As we gather with loved ones and reflect on all the blessings in our lives, let’s remember the true meaning of Thanksgiving. The Latin word Eucharistia, means thanksgiving — a beautiful reminder that our ultimate gratitude must always be directed to the Lord.

Today, we celebrate the glorious moment when our Blessed Mother was assumed body and soul into heaven. As the first to share fully in Christ's victory over death, Mary is a sign of hope and a reminder of our own call to eternal life. Hail, Mary, full of grace! @ArchPhilly

The Ascension completes the Resurrection of Jesus as he takes his place at the right hand of his Father. Likewise, we, who have the promise of the Resurrection, also have the promise in the Risen Lord to join him one day at the right hand of his Father.
