Sand master,a 175mm deep slit injecting approx 80-90t of drainage sand into the slits removing excess water from the surface asap. Done on a different angle each season meaning we have as many slits connecting up with previous slits in every direction possible

The removal of 15mm of organic matter thatch,annual meadow grass and exposure of the last few seasons secondary drainage slits whilst the main drains were backfilled with 2-6mm gravel then 80/20 sand/soil rootzone and consolidated

Finished the sand slits across the pitch this season,each season a different direction to optimise the coverage.
Not a lot going on this weekend as we have a haulage problem with delivery so no major work till Tuesday when work will commence again.

Gravel slits being excavated 300mm deep linking them to the existing gravel of the primary drainage backfilled with gravel,100mm of rootzone then consolidated to firm.
Only the middle of the pitch was done as the other 2/3rds were done in the last 2 renovations

Slow day with lots of hand digging then identifying the collapsed herringbone drains but both new 100m main drains are in and connected ready first thing tomorrow for gravel backfill then sand/soil rootzone on top.

14 new Hunter G85 sprinklers for the surrounds and 6x I-80 turf risers in the pitch,new electric cable and control box with remote control access and controls also accessible by smartphone/iPhone

Not only is the drainage past it’s shelf life all over the pitch the DR stand gets all the shade as the sun doesn’t get above it in the winter months due to it facing south so all of the shaded area retains more soil moisture compared to other parts of the pitch
