Lucasfilm is running a very odd playbook. Public relations is a skill and they clearly aren’t up to the challenge. This should have been the playbook follow to the letter. 1. Immediate Acknowledgment: The first step is to acknowledge the cancellation promptly. This shows that Disney or show's producers are aware of the situation and are not trying to ignore or hide from it. Transparency here is key. Never hide! 2. Gratitude and Reflection: Express gratitude towards the audience, cast, crew, and partners. This step helps in maintaining a positive relationship with those involved and those who supported the show. 3. Explanation (If Possible): While not always necessary or possible, providing a reason for the cancellation can help in managing perceptions. However, this should be done carefully to avoid negative repercussions. Lucasfilm seems to avoid any explanations and this will push fans further. 4. Forward-Looking Statements: Instead of dwelling on the cancellation, shift focus towards future projects or opportunities. Offer a new trailer to Skeleton Crew since the first was well received. Have Jude do an interview with an influential creator not normally used. 5. Engagement and Community Building: Use this opportunity to strengthen community ties. Encourage fans to stay connected through social media or other platforms for updates. Lucasfilms community managers only respond to one particular fan and this causes division. Remove them and hire someone that will offer balanced communication. 6. Media Strategy: Craft a unified message for media interactions. This ensures that all public statements align, reducing the chance of miscommunication or misinterpretation. I know Lucasfilm has media in their pocket. This is an opportunity that has been missed. 7. Personalized Communication: If feasible, personalize communications, especially for key stakeholders or fan groups. This could be through direct emails or posts mentioning fan names or groups. 8. Crisis Management: If the cancellation leads to a PR crisis (like backlash or controversy), follow crisis management protocols: ◦ Quick Response: Address any negative feedback or misinformation swiftly. ◦ Apology if Necessary: If there's a fault from the show's side, a sincere apology can mitigate damage. ◦Learning and Improvement: Publicly or internally, discuss what was learned from the experience to show growth and adaptability. This approach not only handles the immediate PR needs but also sets the stage for future interactions with the audience, potentially turning a negative event into an opportunity for re-engagement or even brand enhancement. Remember, the essence of a PR response is not just to react but to proactively manage perceptions and relationships. Lucasfilm has spent the last 10 years dividing the fans and it will never be resolved until they make decisions to remove the bad players from the game. #TheAcolyte #Lucasfilm

@DCFUnited Snyder failed to resonate with a profitable audience and then he took his model to Netflix so they can also catastrophically fail as well. He is a One Hit Wonder of Directors. Man of Steel looked cool though.

@robertliefeld This will be a miss as well. I am starting to think the Superman will dominate all of these Marvel properties.

@DiscussingFilm He will be lucky to get one movie as Cap. This movie might be a catastrophic failure, nobody is going to watch this thing.

@robertliefeld What’s the Endgame here Rob? Disney and Marvel are a business, they will act this way as long as they are profitable. They have no original ideas and require people like you to feed them. They will suck you dry and then throw your bones out.

@sw_holocron Hmmm, I will have to ponder this one. X-men was good and fairly thoughtful on the characters. I think Star Wars fans have seen so much change they are all on the sidelines waiting for a hero to rise.

If Lucasfilm ever decided to do a Darth Vader film or anything with Sith lore, it is a requirement to have @CharlesSoule in the room. I just read the new Kylo Ren Vader comic. When it comes to the dark side, Charles nails it every time. Lucasfilm, Charles single handily saved Star Wars comics. There isn’t one comic shop that has these comics, it’s kinda crazy. His Vader run from a few years ago was one of the best I have ever read. Charles if you read this, we all appreciate your love for these characters.
