Oh I’m so sorry. My dad passed away when I was 10 and my mom raised my older brother and me alone on a small amount of income and I learned to be self sufficient from her and I thank her for it.

This is the best advice! My late husband and I had joint and separate checking accounts and separate I had my own 401k and stocks and he had his own. We sat down semi monthly to go over our finances and to pay the bills. Don’t trust anyone with your money, no one.
