Nothing is more frustrating as a Gannett employee than seeing the regular post-election social media comments about no results in the paper. I truly wish I could change it but I can’t.
My coworkers worked hard to cover results last night. That work continues today.
In 1921, Indianapolis residents who picked up a copy of the
@IndyStar
on the morning after the mayoral election were able to read about the election results. Today, more than a century and a zillion technological advances later, I opened my paper and saw a story about bird names.

Generalizations about reporters don't help anyone.
I've covered Carmel for almost 2 years, reporting both on Republican Mayor Jim Brainard's legacy and election wins by Democrats.
And I'll continue reporting on this community both ahead of, during and after the Nov. election.
Largely Democrat journo class is salivating over the prospect of Carmel going blue - but can't articulate anything Dems would do better.
Indiana Dems couldn't create a city like Carmel if their lives depended on it. They can only aspire to take over what Republicans built.
