Rob Evans states he has used less medicines💉since using LiFT® and Transition Gold. The good health also has lasting effects with Rob’s cows entering the milking herd with a body condition score between 3 and 3.5.🐮 #TeamDairy

Often the root cause of production and fertility issues in early lactation is the lack of available energy in the transition period which is required as energy needs rise rapidly. LiFT® is designed to prime the liver to manufacture this extra energy efficiently.🐮

Increasing concentrate usage is not the most sustainable way of increasing milk yields.🥛Making better use of homegrown forages should be a focus to increase fibre utilisation to higher than 50%. Poorer quality silages may have less easily available fibre. 🌿

Kingshay data shows milk/forage is up by 3.7% from 2002 whilst concentrate use/cow is up by 23%. Ruminant Technical Manager Dr. Philip Ingram states that increases in cow yields (16% rise from 2002), have been driven by concentrate usage not by improvements in forage utilisation

Cargill has collated a large database to calibrate body condition against productivity relative to hen age and breed. This information allows for corrective measures to be taken when flock data deviates from expectation, allowing changes to be made faster.🐔

Due to an excellent mix with the incorporation of LiFT® into the dry cow🐮ration, Rob Evans had calved 200 cows without a single transition issue. This seamless transition with no health issues maximises the herd's potential yields.🥛 #TeamDairy

Using a device called a Polispec (handheld NIR tool with accurate Cargill calibrations), we can examine samples of the total mixed ration and manure to assess the farm’s fibre utilisation. This gives accurate information on the amount of fibre being used in the diet.🐮 #TeamDairy

Cargill UK’s recent fibre utilisation study shows that at best, cows🐮in the UK are only using 50% of the feed value in forages,🌿the rest simply passes through their system. #TeamDairy

Our poultry specialist Luke Barnard states “It is believed that over-developed fat pads in laying hens are problematic for long-term egg🥚production and optimal liver function. Therefore, keeping birds in a good condition is crucial for longevity of the lay."🐔

When glucose needs rise in the transition period from dry cow to lactating cow,🥛it is of paramount importance that the liver is working effectively in the cow because 85% of glucose production occurs in the cow’s liver.🐮 #TeamDairy #LiFT
