They used a gender neutral pronoun to refer to someone they had never met
They and them is a word used to refer to someone or a group of people. Besides the episode never said they were no binary and even if they did, so what? It was less then 2 seconds of the entire show
New Star Wars show on Disney+ 'Tales of the Empire' features a non-binary character that uses they/them pronouns.

As someone who grew up on TCW Captain rex is EVERYTHING to me, he was always there for people and was loyal until the end. He never left anyone behind and stood for what was right even when it was dangerous. He was then and is still now my fave Star Wars character!! 🫡

Just rewatched rebels S2 E3 the lost commanders and how wolffe acts really scares me, the way he blocks Ahsoka messages from Rex and snitches on the rebels to the empire. I hate to say it but I doubt he’s gonna join rex any time soon…

Honestly I’m happy for it to be left how it is, it was a nice ending for him and it leaves it open for a future story without having to rely on it.
