I think about Vijay everyday. Even more so since I became a mother. He did not deserve what happened to him. Boys like him do not deserve to have older men in their community telling them that their anguish is fleeting. They deserve to be helped, cared for and protected.

Dude. I’ve been to entire Prince parties where they ONLY played Prince and songs he wrote for other people for 8+ HOURS. There are very few artists in the world who have that prowess. The audacity of saying he only had “one notable song” or some dumb shit like that is absurd.

Technically speaking, Michael Jackson released albums within a 3 - 5 year gap and it was entirely enough due to how much quality there was within those albums. PLUS he made hardcore, physical sales. Didn't need a streaming platform in order to get his Platinum certifications.

I’m just sooo confused because to me all Prince did was take risks. He took a risk when he opened for The Rolling Stone in front of a clearly racist crowd. He took a risk when he made Purple Rain the film. He took a risk when he pushed back against Warner Bros. 😭
The only reason people believe Prince barely took a risk is because he wasn't publicly going around talking about how he just did something nobody had ever done before, which is why doing the proper research on his career is important!

Prince was kind. Prince was meticulous. Prince made us laugh. Prince inspired us to be the best versions of who we are.

Fun fact: Prince asked me to use this photo in my review for “HITnRun: Phase 2”. I found out later it was in the CD booklet before physical copies were handed out. I felt so washed with gratitude to know the picture was unveiled first through the piece I wrote. 🥲
