Another policy rift between Britain & the US this time between the UK defence ministry & the trump administration/state department. But we will likely have to follow Washington’s lead on this as we can no longer support Ukraine given our economic vulnerabilities right now

If you believe Ukraine should have given more land to Russia to avoid Ukrainian deaths then you should also lambast Palestine for not making more land concessions to Israel a long time ago to avoid more Palestinian deaths, so weak nations must bend to the will of stronger nations
The ‘sensible’ position in British politics for two years was that hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians should die for no tangible reason, & that any kind of negotiated settlement was implausible. Ukraine should have to fight (and die) to the last man. Easy to say from a laptop.

@AaronBastani I think if we’re going to be ruthlessly pragmatic about territorial concessions then we should apply it across the board in any part of the world rather than being emotionally involved in a given conflict
