Recently, leadership and staff from the Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation and California Strategic Growth Council attended the Gathering on Climate Resilience in the North Coast of California hosted by the North Coast Resources Partnership (NCRP) in Rohnert Park, Calif. Acting Executive Director of State Planning and Policy Development, Abby Edwards, joined a discussion on California Climate Initiatives & Upcoming Funding Opportunities. The meeting included presentations & information sharing by North Coast Tribes, elected officials, counties, state agencies, and other community partners. NCRP, in partnership with Humboldt County, the Watershed Research and Training Center, and Sonoma Water, is a grant recipient of LCI’s Regional Resilience Grant Program (RRGP) which funds planning and implementation climate resilience projects so regional partnerships can address the most significant climate risks in their regions. Also at the event, was the Siskiyou Climate Collaborative, an SGC Regional Climate Collaboratives grantee. The Siskiyou Collaborative hosted a panel discussion and talked about how the collaborative formed and brought in diverse partners to address Siskiyou’s unique climate risks. Siskiyou Climate Collaborative hopes to serve as a model to other groups and coalitions in California to find common ground in order to protect and increase resiliency in their communities. Learn more about them in the links in comments! Thank you to the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria for allowing space for all of us to come together and collaborate! #CaliforniaForAll 🔗Click here for the link:
