As the new presidential administration moves swiftly to enact President Trump’s agenda through a series of executive actions, NLC has created a summary of executive actions that could impact local governments both positively and negatively as the administration pursues its policy goals. The summary includes details on topics such as federal funding, infrastructure, transportation, disaster response, DEI initiatives, international trade, housing and more. NLC is communicating with the White House, federal agencies and members of Congress on these issues and advocating for local governments. We will continue to seek guidance from the administration and educate members on any new executive actions or amendments to existing actions. Read the summary and learn more:

With the evolving landscape, we understand that certainty around federal funding is crucial, especially given the significant investments municipal governments have already made. To support local leaders, NLC is developing a series of resources to help communities navigate and prepare for the immediate impacts. On Jan. 31 at 1 PM EST, NLC is partnering with National Association of Counties (@NACoTweets) to host a webinar examining legal implications of the latest executive action on immigration and its potential impact on municipalities.
