Woke up this morning: For another Xmas I wasn’t supposed to see. Sounds corny—but it doesn’t feel corny when it’s real & not a metaphor. It feels like a gift—that’s why it’s called the present. Today, it’s a Xmas present.

Woke up this morning: Will not be at the World Fantasy Convention in Kansas City this week. Will be home having Covid instead.

My thanks to everyone for their good words & congrats about Alita Battle Angel. This book is very special to me because when my son was a little boy, we used to read the manga together. Alita is part of very happy memories of my son’s childhood
Woke up this morning: early appt w/oncologist, who says I’m doing terrifically well & I’m *killing* this cancer thing. Yeah, Mortality, you better run!
To say I’m appalled & horrified is an understatement.
When my mother & I ran from my abusive father, her sister & her ‘business partner’ took us in. I grew up calling 3 women ‘Mom’ interchangeably, happier & safer than if we’d stayed w/my father
They never were going to just stop with trans people.
Italy has begun stripping lesbian parents of their parental rights.
They always intended to go after all LGBTQ people.
Walsh and others have started sharing outrage posts on gay adoption and surrogacy.
