Why PA is king?
Look at these two lovely $SUSHI setups. You only need two lines and understanding of basic PA.
Trade 1:
1) Squeezed between resistance and trendline.
2) Rejected at retest.
Trade 2:
1) Again squeezed.
2) Fake brake out, long overhead wicks.

Shorted $BTC yesterday before it dumped. Why?👇
1) Price hovering just above resistance. In case of a successful S/R I would like to see move price away from the zone quickly.
2) OBV broke down. OBV can predict future price movement, in this case it worked perfectly.

What is journaling?
A trading journal is a log of your trading activity. Write down every trade you take and include the following variables as a minimum:
-Trade entry
-Trade exit
-Reason for taking the trade
-Screenshot of the setup (before and after)
-Lessons learned

How to trade a range?
Markets are ranging most of the time, so you should know how to trade a range successfully.
1) Trade the range until it breaks.
2) Wait for confirmation before entering (see red circles).
3) Watch volume at range high/low to confirm breakouts.

-Did I check and stick to my own rules?
-How is my mindset? Is this an impulsive trade?

Quick lesson on PA. How you could have traded this move down on $BTC:
1) Price getting squeezed inside the range.
2) Breaks down from range (do not enter position here).
3) Retests range, got rejected (enter short here with SL above the range).

IMO, a trading journal is a must-have for every serious trader. It'll help you discover your strengths & weaknesses, and will train your brain to recognize your successful setups.

It will also help you discover your winrate. As you can see, I only had a winrate of 60% during this challenge. It all comes down to risk management. You can still be profitable even if your winrate is <50%.

The sooner you realize trading is all about probabilities, the better.
Took me a while to realize that.
If you have a (backtested) system of which you know it's profitable over x amount of trades, all that's left is you following your system.
Sounds easier than it is.

Quick lesson on the OBV indicator. Notice how it perfectly predicted upward price movement for $BTC.
1) Price trending down.
2) OBV broke out of downtrend and retested successfully.

- Must say it was stressful trading this account because of the higher risk appetite. Didn't like his style. It was a fun experiment though.
- I don't recommend using a risk of 5%. Most beginners are better off using 1-2% risk per trade.

Watching $LINK. Would be nice if we get one more touch of the lower trendline to enter longs, otherwise retest of the breakout could be buying opportunity.
Be aware: breakouts in the middle of the triangle are mostly fakeouts. Real ones almost always happen closer to the apex.

How to journal?
I've started with journaling in OneNote, these days I use dedicated software. It doesn't matter what kind of tool you use, the most important thing is that you actually use it. There are plenty of solutions out there, find the one that appeals the most.

When trying to learn to trade; stick to the basics. No need for fancy indicators.
Price action, S/R and volume is everything you need.
Master these basics first, you can always expand your knowledge afterwards.
