Wi-Fi 8, officially designated as IEEE 802.11bn or Ultra High Reliability (UHR), is expected to launch around 2028, following the rollout of Wi-Fi 7 in 2024. It promises to significantly enhance wireless network speeds, aiming for up to 100 Gbps, approximately 3.5 times faster than Wi-Fi 7. Utilizing 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 Hz, and incorporating millimeter wave links (42.5-71 GHz), Wi-Fi 8 will offer wider frequency bands but will be more sensitive to line-of-sight disruptions. Read more >
