Yet another amazing work from @BalabanLab. Abrupt stressful changes lead to a general persister state that does not rely on cellular internal network #AntibioResistance
Hoping that our new work on the disrupted cellular state and its effect on antibiotic persistence will trigger work in other systems. #AntibioticAwarenessWeek #AntibioticResistance #microbiology #biophysical #modelling

@AHarms485 That'd be cool. Would this mean bacteria exchanging about phages? How much bacterial growth is there on such assay: does the surviving proportion of bacteria need to be high to get this ring, or is there definitely growth happening? Colonies do seem small in the plaque center.

Gregory is a great person and scientist, this looks like a great opportunity for anyone in this field interested to live in Paris, France!
Searching for a Staff Scientist (permanent contract) to join our group at Pasteur. We build smart experimental platforms and apply cybergenetics and synbio approaches for engineering yeast. #hiring #synbio #cybergenetics #labautomation #openhardware #yeast

@blacksciblog My feeling is that many papers are thought to be published, not to be read. There should be a equilibrium we can find between pure story telling and pure raw data. Getting rid of 10-panel, repetitive bar graphs figures could be a good point to start, maybe...

@RolfsMicrobes @dbkrupp I would like to say this is "unbelievable", but in trying to perform or propose interdisciplinary studies myself, I often found that some fields are very protective. Good luck to you, I would love to read your works on such story.
