All of year 1 have had a wonderful first day back in school! We’ve met our new teachers and support staff, got to grips with the new classroom and caught up with friends: we can’t wait for the year to begin!

We got to hold, stroke and look at a variety of animals this afternoon, while showing off our already gained knowledge! Lizards, snakes, amphibians and even an arachnid! 👀 I was impressed with those who pushed themselves to try. Very brave! Well done!

We do not allow tattoos normally but this is special. We have been hearing all about Ramadan and how our class friend has been celebrating Eid. We all found it really interesting.

The children were challenged to create towers using a set amount of cubes, increasing the total and the risk of falling over. They overcame this by creating balancing methods to ensure the integrity of their structure! Brilliant brains this Friday! 🧠

We had our collective worship in the prayer garden and then planted a dragonfly in there in remembrance of our friend’s dad. We then said prayers for her family and for all those that we know who have died and are now in heaven.

We braved the wet and wild winds to explore the forest school area to inspire us in the new adventures Traction Man may undertake for our version. We found some evil sweet wrappers that needed to be destroyed to save the animals! I wonder what else will appear in our stories…

We have just enjoyed a story in our new outdoor classroom. We were the first class to use it. Thank you to our wonderful PTA for our outdoor classroom. It is amazing and we love how spacious it is.
