🚨 Another Burden on Business Owners – While Human Traffickers Walk Free 🚨 Connecticut’s Proposed Bill 971 puts the responsibility of fighting human trafficking on hotel and motel owners, rather than focusing on law enforcement efforts to catch the criminals behind these horrific crimes. 💡 What this bill does: Forces hotels, motels, and inns to act as law enforcement, holding owners financially liable for crimes they have no control over. Imposes civil penalties on business owners instead of strengthening police resources to go after traffickers. Creates unnecessary financial burdens on businesses, many of which are already struggling with high costs and regulations. ⚠️ What we should be doing instead: ✔️ Empower law enforcement with the tools and resources they need to investigate and prosecute traffickers. ✔️ Increase penalties for human traffickers, not business owners. ✔️ Strengthen coordination between law enforcement and hospitality businesses instead of punishing them. Human trafficking is a horrific crime—one that deserves serious action, not misguided regulations that does nothing to stop human trafficing but puts the burden innocent business owners. 📢 Speak out against this bill! Contact your legislators and tell them to focus on real solutions, not political theater. Connecticut must stand with law enforcement and against traffickers! 🚨I’ve joined my colleagues in requesting information on Dr. Fauci’s role in the COVID-19 response. His shocking pardon by @JoeBiden does not prohibit any state-level investigation or legal proceedings. Louisiana will follow the evidence.
