Former Kalon Tripa, Gyalo Thondup, elder brother of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, passed away on 8 February 2025. Kalon (Minister) Dolma Gyari of the Department of Security draped the Tibetan flag over his body on 9 February. Cremation will take place on 11 February.
