Great question! The Bypass will not be the highest point in the CTA rail system, the crest is about 45 ft. above ground level. As a comparison, the Green Line track crossing the Dan Ryan expressway is more than 60 ft. high. More facts here:

🔥 Now this is fire! Crews are "de-stressing," which conditions the new rail so it can better cope with extreme temps. The rail needs to stay under 85ºF for this process to work! The sun can't heat up the rail at night, which is why we do this work under the stars. ⭐

🌙 It may be night, but we're still hard at work lifting and placing these cross-girders just north of Belmont station! A cross-girder lays horizontal across those concrete columns, and provides structural support for the track base. 🏗️
