Congratulations to John VanDerLaan, the 2018 Connecticut Open Champion. VanDerLaan shot 66-62-66-194 at New Haven Country Club to break the tournament record by six. He held back CJ Swift, who shot 67 today, to win by two in just his third professional start.

Monday 2:00 p.m. There is currently some conflicting information and varying interpretations of Governor Lamont's Executive Order throughout the golf community. The CSGA and its representatives are in regular contact with the Governor's Office, and hope to provide clarity soon.

Beautiful day today at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course and the parking lot was packed. No shaking hands, no high-fiving, flagstick in throughout, but otherwise golf as we know it. The Wheel in surprisingly good shape for March 15.

We are saddened to hear of the sudden loss of Jeff Swanson. Jeff was the long-time head professional at Cedar Knob Golf Course in Somers and a great friend to golf in Connecticut. We want to pass along our condolences to Jeff's family and friends.
Chris Fosdick is the Connecticut Amateur Champion. He defeated 2013 Amateur Champion Cody Paladino, 1 up, shooting 63 in the second round to overcome a 3-hole deficit as they began the second 18. Congratulations to both for producing one of the best final matches ever.
