"While @Yale shifts to more specialized computer science introductory courses, @davidjmalan, who teaches @CS50 at @Harvard, will focus on a new partnership with the @UniofOxford. However, Malan looks back on his partnership with Yale as a 'perfect proof of concept' that higher education can be more collaborative. "'That two schools, rivals no less, could come together in this way educationally has been a remarkable thing. [I only wish more of higher education would embrace such collaborations, to lean on each other and provide students with all the more educational opportunities.] I don't think the world needs just one course in computer science. But I don't think we need thousands, each siloed within institutions. [Indeed, there's long been a tradition of faculty collaborating on research outside the classroom, but less so on education inside the classroom. It's been a delight, then, to collaborate with our colleagues at Yale on precisely the latter, to build a learning community of students and TAs alike across campuses.
