We’ve all lost a legend with the passing of Coach Bob “Bubba” Mattix. Yes, he was a Hall of Fame Football Coach but he was so much more to so many people. The thousands of young men that Coach has mentored and positively impacted during his lifetime will be his lasting legacy.
Shout out to these Region schools to allow us to borrow one of their helmets. These will be used as table centerpieces at Coach Bob Mattix’s Celebration of Life on Friday. Region Football is truly a brotherhood.

Behind every good O-Line is an Outstanding O-Line Coach.
Buzea credits offensive line coach Tom Cicero for leading the group that’s become the foundation CP “hangs its hat on.”
“Tom Cicero is the best in the business. “Yes, We have size but they’re coached extremely well.”

Today we are highlighting Coach Bob Mattix. A 2019 inductee into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame. He brings 50 years of coaching experience, I2 years as a head coach, including at Portage from 1988-93, and was the D-Line Coach for 5 years at Valparaiso University.
This young man had “Hoop Dreams”. Was a heckuva basketball player but was a 6’ Guard. (Dime a dozen) I told him I thought his best avenue to take was in Football. Just so many more opportunities. Yesterday, signed with the AFC Champs for 2.5 Million. So proud of you

for their win tonight and Good Luck next week as they represent the North in the Class 5A State Championship Game!!
The amount of Crown Point players and parents that attended tonights service for Coach Mattix was overwhelming. For a guy to only be at a place for such a short time and make such a huge impact speaks volumes. Let’s light them up tomorrow night for Bubba.
