A 19th-century Tanpura (1800-1900 CE), made by Gopinath & Bros., Calcutta, is as much a work of art as an instrument. Adorned with hand-painted floral motifs, Krishna playing the flute, and Radha with a lotus, peacocks, and cows, it sings a story of devotion.

The Sarangi, one of India’s most expressive bowed instruments, holds a revered place in classical and folk music. At the City Palace Museum, Udaipur, we had the privilege of witnessing a mesmerizing Sarangi recital by Mr. Vijay Kumar Dhandra.

Children from Sarthi Medical and Education Charitable Trust, a Surat-based NGO supporting Thalassemia patients, visited the CPM, immersing in Mewar’s heritage. They had the honor of meeting Maharaj Kumar Sahab @lakshyarajmewar , whose words of encouragement filled them with joy.
