Today, alongside Warshiekh District Commissioner and Police Commissioner, the @CPD_Africa team visited Ruunshiiqow village in Warshiekh District, Hiirshabelle State. The visit aimed to monitor the progress of the construction of an elevated water tank with a solar system and water troughs, as well as the solarization of the local health center, originally built through community initiative. These vital infrastructure projects will significantly improve access to clean water and healthcare for the community. In collaboration with the Galmudug Ministry of Interior and the Galkacyo South District Mayor's Office, @CPD_Africa conducted a second- day of consultative engagement focused on strengthening women and youth leadership committees in the Mudug region. The meeting took place at Galkacyo South District, Galmudug State. The primary objective was to discuss the state of peace and security in the region and explore how the Somali @stability_fund III program can align its activities to effectively support peace and reconciliation efforts. The Galmudug and Puntland joint peace initiative is funded by the Somali Stability Fund and implemented by CPD and PSA in a consortium led by @caresom Somalia.

According to the communities' project priorities, the two villages voted for the rehabilitation of the water system, building of a water tank and solarisation system, construction of two animal troughs, construction of a generator room, and the installation of a submersible pump

The consultation forum was attended by various groups from the district’s community. The objective of the forum was to assess the district’s current administrative status; and map out the capacity for service delivery.

During the visit, Abbas shared his vision for Nexus Somalia, emphasizing the importance of capacity-building training, resource mobilization, and other measures to elevate the consortium's collective impact.

The Director's visit was aimed to foster a deeper connection between the consortium members and their ongoing projects and programs. Abbas also engaged with CPD's department heads, learning about their work and sharing insights on enhancing collaboration.
