Trump's hubris blinds him to the diminishing American power, with his administration retreating into a fantasy where facts no longer matter. These absurdities undermine human rights, justice and international law. COPE urges the South African government to pursue the country's sovereign interests and international law without fear and uphold human rights and peace. COPE CALLS ON THE NATION TO STAY UNITED AND RESILIENT IN THE FACE OF DONALD TRUMP’S IRRATIONAL EXECUTIVE ORDER. Congress of the People (COPE) strongly condemns the divisive and racist outbursts by USA President Donald Trump which is intended to sow discord and chaos not just in South Africa but in his own country and around the world. Trump is blinded by hubris, unable to fathom the empire’s diminishing power. The robber barons in the Trump administration have retreated into a fantasy world where hard and unpleasant facts no longer matter. They spew incoherent absurdities to undermine human rights, justice, peace and international law and organisations. We call on the government of the Republic not to be intimidated by a rogue administration. It should pursue the sovereign interests of the country and international law without fear or favour. We have a moral responsibility to uphold human rights and peaceful resolution of conflicts around the world. The nation, in its diversity, should not be hysterical or panic by irrational outbursts by a wannabe dictator on a course to spread falsehoods and mayhem in international relations. We should support the President's statement that we shall not be bullied and that we are a resilient nation.

We are certain that the overwhelming majority of the Afrikaner community believe in the future of their country, South Africa. Lies and distortion of facts and reality will not succeed. A foreign power will never defeat a united and resilient South African nation. The nation, in its diversity, is united to defend democratic values, human rights, and international law through respect for sovereignty and multilateralism.

COPE acknowledges the SONA for addressing South Africa’s issues but finds it lacking in urgent action. The speech fails to inspire hope or provide real solutions to economic stagnation, high unemployment and municipal collapse. COPE is concerned that the ANC dominates the Government of National Unity, perpetuating failed policies. COPE offers a bold policy agenda focusing on economic growth, job creation, cost-of-living relief, municipal reform and zero-tolerance for corruption. South Africa deserves a government that prioritises its people, not politicians. Elon Musk has never said anything positive about South Africa. From his years of fame, he has never mentioned us in good light. The only time he jumps in is when he wants to tarnish our image and spread fake news about us.
