Tomorrow at noon on the steps of City Hall, join
@MarkLevineNYC
and I for a rally in support of our bill, Int 258.
New York City deserves more public restrooms. Let's make it happen.
This morning, my office and I teamed up with
@RidersAlliance
for some canvassing to tell the community about our shared efforts for better bus services on Flatbush Avenue. The responses we got were overwhelmingly positive, and it's clear the community wants change!
As a forever educator and champion for all students, I am appalled by the resolution passed by CEC 2. See my joint statement below with the

A special thank you to 7 year old Logan who just testified at the 11th hour of our hearing on the importance of her school social worker.
This made my entire day.❤️
It is unconscionable for the Adams administration to balance the budget on the backs of New York City students especially when it comes to the food our students eat in school. See my statement below⤵️
Today the
@nyccouncil
took one step closer towards equity, transparency and justice. We voted to override and reject Mayor Adams’ veto on Int.586-A the “How Many Stops Act” and Int.549-A banning solitary confinement in jails.

As an educator who taught during the pandemic in
@NYCSchools
we are seeing the same thing happen all over again. The lack of preparedness when it comes to technology for our NYC students, educators and staff.
I call on
@nycschools
to provide the resources and support needed to our school community and students. We must ensure that our students and educators can have a fruitful remote day without lapses in their educational instructional time.
This morning I am standing with the Emergency Coalition to save Education Programs ahead of our hearing at 9:30am. Let's make sure that equitable funding in education becomes a reality. Our future depends on it. 📢📚
We are at City Hall Park now with New York City children, calling on
@NYCMayor
to halt this egregious 60-Day shelter stay policy that will destabilize our families with children!
Ahead of today’s Preliminary Budget Hearing on Education I stopped by “Mornings on 1” to discuss some key priorities I’ll be focusing on such as; 3k/Pre-K , class size, community schools, restorative justice & more. Thanks for having me Pat! ☕️📚
Every single student in NYC deserves a robust, quality education. That includes students with disabilities.
@NYCSchools
must improve the quality of services for this vulnerable student population. I'll never stop fighting until these students get the education they deserve.
Yesterday, I joined my colleagues in the
@NYCProgressives
Caucus to sound the alarm against Mayor Adams’ proposed cuts to the very important things that keep our city running.
Social services, education, community composting, early childhood education & more cannot be cut.
Thrilled to announce the passage of my first bill this session! Putting our NYC students first with ensuring we have the data needed to properly implement smaller class sizes. Together, we're paving the way for a brighter future!

Education is the cornerstone of every community. I’ll be going to all five Boroughs throughout this budget season to hear directly from New Yorkers when it comes to education.
Today’s announcement by
@NYCMayor
, along with
@NYCSpeakerAdams
& Finance Chair

of over $500 million in funding for critical education programs—is a step in the right direction.
Nothing but smiles at
@danielsgoldman
's inauguration!
Congrats on a successful event Congressman. Looking forward to working with you on behalf of Brooklyn working families.
Earlier today, I stood alongside my colleagues in the Council to lay out our vision for the budget. While the Mayor is proposing to cut all city agencies by 3% (except for the NYPD), we are proposing robust investments in schools, housing, and healthcare.
For too long, students with disabilities have gotten the short end of the stick at our schools.
I chaired a hearing today to shed a light on the problems faced by students with disabilities. All NYC kids deserve a quality education, and I won’t rest until that’s achieved.
Our town hall on the city’s education budget is just getting started. Brooklyn is our first stop and we will head to all five Boroughs because New Yorkers should know what’s at stake when it comes to education! 🎤📚🏫
My thoughts on the recent event at Hillcrest High School ⤵️
As a parent, educator, and as Chair of the Education Committee, there is nothing more important to me than the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and school communities.

Yesterday I had the honor of celebrating the incredible women shaping the future of early childhood education. From empowering discussions to strategic planning with stakeholders, it’s evident that we have the ability to implement positive change in our early childhood system.
I am honored to be featured on the inaugural Power Players Rising Power List. I’m so proud of the changes my team and I have brought to our district in less than a year in office, and I’m committed to building further on the successes we’ve had. The work continues!

All students and staff should always feel safe, supported, and respected in NYC schools. What happened last week at Hillcrest High School goes against that bedrock principle. There is zero room for hate of any kind, including anti-Semitism and Islamophobia.

When I tell you I LOVE constituent services, I really mean it. No task is too big, and no task is too small!
We have a packed house this evening in the Bronx despite it being a rainy day. No matter the weather it is clear that New Yorkers care about education.📚

I'm thrilled to announce that with

This morning I stopped by the Academy of Hospitality & Tourism(AOHT) at Erasmus to surprise the Hospitality students with over $1.2 Million Dollars for a new Kitchen upgrade. When I first met these students two years ago they shared that a new kitchen was a top priority for them.
At the same time, calls for accountability must be accompanied with calls and actions reflecting unifying leadership, genuine healing, culturally responsive practices, and turning this serious matter into a teachable moment to bring our students and diverse communities together.
Today we honor Jackie Robinson, a true legend who broke barriers and changed the game forever. His courage and resilience continue to inspire us all.
