Have you noticed that the state was quite capable of expanding the university system to accommodate legions of students to study non-courses but for some reason can’t increase medical school places to reduce reliance on overseas doctors?
The only reason unis are marketised and "underfunded" is because Blair needed to supercharge 250k places per annum to meet his long term target of 50% in higher education. That's the only reason we have 270-odd HE institutions. It shouldn't be this way. 50 unis *max*.

The death clauses in the Coronavirus Act suspended the 112 year old double lock system requiring two independent doctors to sign off a death. That system caught Harold Shipman. If he was killing in 2020/21, he wouldn't have been caught.
