With a little assistance this Veteran is making it. 1. Job.2. not living in car.3. was in a hotel for few nights.4. found a rental house.5. signed a lease.6. paid deposit and first months rent.7. just needs utilities on.

Wouldn’t that money be better served helping homeless veterans, keeping Barstow VA Home open (that houses 200 veterans) and securing veterans who lost their jobs with ZERO ability to feed their families?!. American citizens who have sacrificed to protect us.

As we approach Memorial Day I want to say something about Sgt Danny Smiley and Gretchens dad. He did not die physically in Vietnam. Emotionally, mentally and sprititually he died in Vietnam. Sgt Danny like thousands of others to be Remembered, Honored and Memorialized. Cheers.

Many of our veterans have gone to dozens of agency's for assistance only to be placed on a list, or referred to other agency's. It is not uncommon to go to 20-30 agencies and none actually provide assistance. Our vets become paralyzed as a result of the continual rejections.
17 CRITICAL SITUATIONS. All of these vets are in dire shape. Each barely have food, gas for cars, get to medical appts, cloths for job interviews. Some have family support emotionally, some have nobody.

Our wonderful vet advocate Laurel Laurel B, RN, VBR, VVA and I have been assisting our veteran today. Laurel is with him at the Metro Hospital ER and we have just both given report to hospital about the events leading up to today. Please continue to pray for our vet.@codeofvets.
UPDATE: Taken to hospital for evaluation. I am going to say this-the run around the vet has been subjected too by the VA led to this situation. Dr Cindy Walter has been assisting him for six months and has documented the failures. NOTE: He was given employee of the year award.
