Yesterday, a man attended the police station in W'Burg & turned over a found wallet that only contained 2 pieces of ID. The man left but returned a short time later with $20 & asked that police put the money in the wallet so the owner would have a better day than how it started.

This lady was not having a good day. The battery in her chair lost its charge, and the chair stopped moving.
Luckily, Cdt Walls pushed her back to CKPS HQ, where she could charge her chair and continue on her way safely.

The officer, in his own car, drove back into town & filled up a jerry can for him.
Even though the officer was tired & just wanted to get home to his wife & kids, he stopped to help. This is just one of the many examples of the good things that your officers do here in

Public safety remains our priority. We will continue to engage our community, educate when appropriate & enforce when necessary. At this time, this does not include randomly stopping vehicles or pedestrians in order to enforce the stay-at-home orders.
We would like to extend our thanks to the gentleman who approached two of our officers yesterday on St. Clair Street in Chatham to ask if they wanted a coffee. The officers declined but his thoughtful gesture was greatly appreciated.
