Diminished in numbers, but not in spirit, our pupils celebrated the last Band Parade – for now!
It was a surreal, poignant and momentous occasion which we will remember for ever... ❤️
CH drama pupils enjoyed an amazing workshop with actor of stage, screen and TV, Roger Allam. We wish to thank Roger for returning to his old school to inspire current pupils!

We have given every one of our 900 pupils a very smart, reusable water bottle, branded with the School crest. This means we no longer give out any plastic water bottles, which saves 28,000 plastic bottles a year!

Thank you to our amazing Bandmaster, Mr Whittingham, who is retiring after 21 years with us! His legacy is remarkable – the video (link below), created by pupil Molly, says it all.
It's safe to say he will be sorely missed!
Class of 2020! We couldn't be more proud of our Grecians - they have met uncertain times with brave smiles and a resilience of spirit that is truly humbling! 👏
#Classof2020
Straight out of school and into Harlequins Academy - no wonder Lennox is jumping for joy!
As the first recipient of the CH Joe Launchbury rugby scholarship, it's very exciting that Lennox is following in

There's no denying that our dining hall is rather special!

Our marvellous cleaner Joan wowing assembly this morning with her talk about what it's like cleaning up after CH pupils!

On this day, 120 years ago, Christ's Hospital pupils arrived at the new Horsham school by train from London!

At CH, it’s about need, not greed! We work hard to reach and pay for deprived children who can truly benefit from our bursary support, which last year came to £17.2m! 13% of our pupils pay no fees at all and 35% pay a maximum of 10%.

Introducing our Senior Grecian and Second Monitor for 2022-23:
Maddie and Luke!
Congratulations to them both – they will no doubt do a great job representing CH!
At the end of term, we bid a sad farewell to Mr McKenna who has been a DT teacher here at CH for an impressive 37 years!
We thank him for his hard work and commitment and wish him happy retirement!
Wishing all our pupils and their families a happy and restful summer holiday and to our leaving Grecians, all the very best for future – we will miss you.
Our Deputy Head, Mrs Fleming, waited 30 years for this moment! And here she is, leading Coleridge A, where she was house parent for many years, in final band

yesterday.
Mrs Fleming will soon be leaving us to go into retirement - she will be greatly missed!
St Matthew’s Day! Our band and senior pupils triumphantly paraded through the City of London, past the old School site and into Guildhall, where the Mayor presented them each with a newly minted coin!

On 23 November 465 years ago, CH opened its doors to 380 pupils. The first pupil entered in the admissions register in 1553 was a girl and in that year, it was granted its first Royal Charter by King Edward VI.
Thanks so much to the wonderful
@chrisriddell50
for his live, illustrated talk today! Some pupils were even lucky enough to be given a sketch!
We especially like Chris's sketch showing why everyone should be in Housey uniform to help lessen the spread of germs..!
We sent out 68 face shields on Friday, including a custom assignment for a children's hospice.
@ChestnutSussex
asked if we could supply 30 child friendly shields; our DT team got to work and came up with this cheerful design!

Due to the pandemic, there are limited year groups and no visitors – for now!

Girls have been championed at Christ's Hospital from the start and numbers of girls and boys are kept equal - that's nearly 500 years of girl power!
This is our Senior Grecian (Head Girl) - a wonderful role model for our CH girls!

Jacob took the opportunity to officially pass the band captain baton on to Oliver when they were at the Tower of London for Beating Retreat!
Good luck Oliver in your new role!

in 1553, Edward VI founded Christ's Hospital.
This painting was commissioned to celebrate the event, 100 years later.
It is not a realistic interpretation of Edward, as he was on his death bed at the time!
DG/Year 12 pupil Freddie was instrumental in a project to replace the halogen bulbs in Chapel with LEDs.
As a result, there has been an 80% decrease in energy use and savings of up to £3,000 pa!
And Chapel looks just the same as always!
