With remorse, CHP Newhall recalls a day of heartbreak in 1970 when 4 officers paid the ultimate price in what is known as the Newhall Incident. We will continue to honor their commitment to lay down their lives rather than swerve from the path of duty.

We were out on Bouquet Canyon Rd this morning, early!!!! Beginning when the sun was still sleeping, this officer wrote 11 citations, all for excessive speed, including a double stop for 88mph!!.

On Saturday, we had officers patrolling SR-126. A total of 33 citations and 6 written warnings were issued to drivers exceeding 65 mph. The drive can be a pleasant one, but please remember, the speed limit on SR-126 is actually 60 mph. Drive safely!.

Officer Reynolds was one of the first CHP officers on-scene at the Railroad Fire yesterday. He helped evacuate 7 residents (and at least one dog!) as flames threatened the apartment complex. Nice job, Officer Reynolds!!!!

Stevenson Ranch, we're baaaaaack! This officer cited one car for 55 in a 40mph zone and the second car for 45 in a 25mph zone! Altogether, he wrote 18 citations in just 4 hours. You never know where we're going to be, so it's better to just SLOW DOWN and avoid a hefty fine!.

A small fire was quickly knocked out this afternoon on northbound I-5 near State Route 138. The number one lane of the north-bound freeway was shut down for a short time but fire crews were able to knock the fire out quickly.

Excellent information from Caltrans. Power is being turned off due to multiple fires in Los Angeles County. Remember to treat flashing red traffic signals as a stop sign. If the light is completely off, treat it like a stop sign.
