Because the women's team can move like 04/05 Chelsea, where they have ability to largely move uncontested in the market and are willing to invest more than others, whilst doing so from a position of power. This isn't a defence of the men's, but it's different markets entirely.
How come the women’s side has top notch squad planning and just gets the best manager available? Don’t tell me it’s a money thing, we’ve spent £1.1bn on players alone.

@ShedEndTom1982 @FFulbright No, you just see these people as solely footballers and are ignorant to the fact they have lives outside of that which for whatever reason, people are weirdly invested in. If you can tell me how an interest in clothes correlates to a bad sporting performance, I'm all ears.

@ShedEndTom1982 @FFulbright Making wild assumptions about people you don't know and trying to suggest that things like 'dressing normal' (an ignorant statement within itself) has a direct correlation to on-pitch performances and mentality.

@ShedEndTom1982 @FFulbright Cucurella is massively into his fashion too so this theory doesn't exactly work. It's proper, proper weird behaviour btw

@Seb_Anderssen I'm not too sure what the alternatives are with Felix out of the squad. At a push you've a Mcneilly or Mhueka (although latter is injured, I believe) but for whatever reason, we've never seen that at Chels. We are largely in trouble without Nico tbh.

@ShedEndTom1982 @FFulbright It’s not facts at all tbh, it’s just latching onto things and trying to paint a narrative. CR7 is the most self absorbed footballer of all time but theres no issues with his interests. They’re rich and like fashion, it has no bearing on the pitch

@olijcarpenter I don’t feel such absolute defeatism, but they need to learn lessons that shouldn’t have required us to get to this point to learn.

@ShedEndTom1982 @FFulbright I don’t see how the two are connected, this expectation that footballers shouldn’t have interests or ventures outside of football is baffling to me. It’s misplaced anger but i guess if it gives you something to point towards go for it

@FFulbright @ShedEndTom1982 I mean today was poor but I don’t see the connection, players having an interest in fashion means absolutely nothing to me i’ll be honest

@thechelskikid @MG09123 @Lwandile_MJIKY My point from the start was that it was bad under him, which it was. That's not to say it was good under Potter either but it was bad under Poch and players were often brought back too much / not rotated.

@thechelskikid @MG09123 @Lwandile_MJIKY To be clear, I have zero bias in either direction, but injuries are less this season and immediate reoccurrences under Poch were huge so I don't know why we'd possibly dismiss that.

@MG09123 Yeah I think he’s made some mistakes over the past month but I’ll judge on the reaction over the mistake. He showed the complete opposite in the first months which is what gives me hope - the proactivity vs WH felt like a slide nudge back in that direction

@thechelskikid @Lwandile_MJIKY right and it’s not the same this season which was my point when I said they’re more frequent

@SonOfChelsea I really saw nothing from last season that gave me confidence we were on the right path tbh. A lot is made of those last 5 games but there’s factors that make me severely doubt they justified another year tbh. Don’t challenge the second point but have seen more from Enzo imo
