Openly has the views of...roughly half the population. Hopefully the Michigan School of Medicine educates these young people such that they grow to hear views with which they disagree and to be open to challenges to their biases. P.S. The talk had nothing to do with abortion.
It's actually somewhat comforting that they are forced to lie about things like ectopic pregnancies and interracial marriage as a means of deflecting from the widespread systematic violence they support. It may take some time, but the lies will fall and the truth will be known.
Poor guy. He left before his soufflé because he decided half the country should risk death if they have an ectopic pregnancy within the wrong state lines. It’s all very unfair to him.
The least they could do is let him eat cake 🍰
Ruth Bader Ginsburg invoking Judaism as foundational to her beliefs about justice? Slay, queen.
MLK holding fellow Christians to account on racism using moral theology? Duh.
Someone with views I don't agree with is similarly motivated by their faith?
Dangerous theocrat.
The Catholic Church invented the hospital, nursing, the university, and is still the most important force in defense of the poor and sick around the world.
A profoundly dark day for a party which I grew up thinking was on the side of nonviolence. The side of the voiceless. The side of the most vulnerable. Instead, they are now captured by the most extreme abortion ideologues in the world. And they will deserve the political fallout.
BREAKING NEWS: Every Senate Democrat except ONE just voted to legalize abortion nationwide until the very moment of childbirth.
Every Republican Senator voted against it.
A pro-abortion-rights group called Jane’s Revenge is claiming credit for acts of vandalism throughout the U.S., reports
@kait_tiffany
, and right-wing activists and politicians are eating it up.
Tim Ballard spends his life heroically freeing children from sex trafficking.
Jim Caviezel makes a movie about it.
The media then proceeds to call it a “paranoid new movie” in an attempt to discredit its exposure of the global child sex trafficking industry.
Interesting.
The ironic thing about those who want the Louisiana law overturned is they want to hold abortion clinics to *lower* standards than other kinds of health clinics. Abortion idolatry pushes them not only to treat killing as mere healthcare...they treat it as *less* than healthcare.
We’re outside of the Supreme Court right now to cheer on our friends at
@ReproRights
and send a message loud and clear:
ABORTION IS HEALTH CARE.
ABORTION IS A RIGHT.
Ask yourself this question: How can one of our two major parties be all in on a position (on the most inflammatory topic of our time) held by *thirteen percent* of US Americans?
This past Friday, pro-lifers began reporting on doctors killing
#MichaelHickson
. To this point, it has only been picked up by pro-lifers and disability rights activists. That it has been ignored by major media and racial justice activists is a disgrace. 1/
Pro-life question from young man

Pete Buttigieg:
“MEN ARE MORE FREE in a country where we have a president who stands up for access to abortion…”
Translation:
Men, if you want to keep your right to pressure women to kill a child you don’t want to raise, vote for Harris.
So if a hurricane struck New York and it killed over 30,000 people (including thousands of seniors who were forced below sea level), but then the governor built a sea wall afterwards saying he fixed the problem, would this be considered a huge success?
Aaron, my good friend since 1988, died of complications due to covid-19 this morning. Please pray for his wife, four boys (one of whom is my godson), and him.
34% of UK NHS health care/social workers said they were pressured to put DNR's (do not resuscitate orders) on covid-19 patients who also had learning difficulties & disabilities! 🤦
Unreal! Sounds like something from 1940's Nazi Germany!
This is an absolutely bananas position. "The Washington Post asked whether there should be restrictions on abortion at any point during a healthy pregnancy. Six of the candidates, including Buttigieg, Warren and Sanders, said they support no restrictions."
This, while not unexpected for anyone who has been paying attention, is an absolute outrage.
Will we look up from our day-to-day concerns and pay attention? Will we actually *see* and internalize what is being done to this population?
**will we?** 1/
Holy cow. According to Harvard/Harris, half the country wants abortion banned after week 6. After week 15 its 72 percent. Dobbs gives no net political bounce to either party.
If you're reporting on (1) below only, leaving aside every else that contradicts it, then shame on you.
Day 30: COVID sufferers must die alone!
Day 150: pack together in protest for public health!
Day 200: non-rich kids must fall behind in school!
Day 280 (morning): thousands crowding together to troll Trump LOL
Day 280 (evening): ND students rushed the field; what covidiots!
Two truths to affirm all day:
1. Public doesn't support Roe/Casey law. Supermajorities support restrictions that they made impossible.
2. Economically vulnerable people (including those at risk for abortion) are much more in favor of prenatal justice than are privileged people.
the Harris/Walz ticket has views on abortion so wildly extreme that they make even the progressive countries of Europe look like champions for prenatal justice
In 2023, Walz signed into law a bill establishing a “fundamental right” to abortion with no gestational limits.
Harris has claimed it’s a “mischaracterization” to say Democrats want abortion legal through all 9 months.
why don't these facts lead the news? why aren't LTC facilities and state officials hounded by investigative reporters? why isn't our national COVID strategy geared toward protecting nursing homes?
no excuses: we knew from the beginning...outbreak started in a WA nursing home 6/
But look at my home state of New Jersey. The numbers are just stunning.
Nearly 5 in 10 nursing home residents in NJ were infected with COVID.
Near 2 in 10 nursing home residents in NJ *DIED* of COVID.
Beyond words awful. And it doesn't get close to the attention it deserves.
Some professional news! Yesterday I accepted a tenured, full professor position with the

The hospitals, man. It was the hospitals (who literally gave him a million dollars) who demanded and got their preferred policy here. One which conceived of nursing home residents as a throwaway population.
how could a person be so totally and absurdly wrong, see his influence devastate millions and corrupt multiple cultures with toxic disinformation, and yet continue to win awards and gain platforms?
Ok WHAT. I had no idea “The Population Bomb” led to the sterilization of 8 million Indians and Paul Ehrlich just lives out his life as a beloved professor. From a recent ACX post—
Dems being held hostage by abortion extremists is a main reason Trump is president. Insisting on no abortion restrictions is totally bananas. Most of Europe has restrictions after 12-16 weeks. If Dems continue on this wild path it is practically begging for 5 more years of Trump.
I was proud to be on the platform committee in 2016 to ensure the Democratic Party platform had the strongest language in history when it came to protecting and expanding reproductive freedom. And I am honored to be nominated for that committee again this cycle. /12

Can't believe this news hasn't made a bigger splash.
@HHSGov
is moving to force Catholic (and other) providers and institutions to provide abortions. No religious exceptions. This...um...takes it up a notch?
If you would, please take just a brief moment and pray for my son. Current US culture is so hard for older boys and young men. So many are just so lost. So many forces are stacked against them that it is really difficult to pull into a different lane.
The amount and intensity of woundedness and pain that Liz's article has uncovered has been simply extraordinary. Among other things, it is a profound reminder of the need for the church to be a field hospital.
Totally devastating.
President Trump just announced he will vote in support of Amendment 4 in Florida, which permits abortions on babies up until birth, without restriction.
Pro-Life America, speak now!!
Totally facinating.
The most religious people care first about justice, especially with respect to the elderly and sick. The most secular people care more about making a utilitarian calculation.
one thing a Harris run will do is focus attention back on the wildly extreme, nearly unique (globally speaking), pro-abortion ethos that has captured the Democratic party. it is a truly barbaric approach, especially relative to other civilized counties. no way to spin it.
1️⃣ Harris refuses to name a single limit on abortion she supports. Even when a reporter asked if she was okay with Roe being interpreted as a 20-24-week limit, she said, “No, no, no.“
Not at 37 weeks or 38 or 39 – or even 40.
It shouldn't be this hard.
no,
@CNN
,
@NYTimes
, etc., viability is not at "about 23 weeks." babies regularly survive at 22 weeks and we are are now pushing well into the early part of the 21st week
We may find out, as was the case in northern Italy, that it was actually more dangerous to go to the hospital in NYC if you had COVID than simply to stay home.
One of the best articles so far about how New York’s Coronavirus response under the leadership of
@NYGovCuomo
made the pandemic worse. This article alone should be enough to prompt a federal investigation.
@WSJ
If you want real insight into the practice of abortion in the US, read this amazing, heartbreaking, and horror-filled story. Thank goodness the local news is doing its job...I'm not sure the national media have the stomach for it. 1/
An association of Democratic state attorneys general will become the first national party committee to impose an explicit abortion litmus test on its candidates, requiring them to declare their support for abortion rights
Sorry. I know I must be a difficult Twitter follow given how often share morally horrific things going on in the world.
But here's another one we ought to know about and keep in mind. A disabled woman says three times she doesn't want to be euthanized...and is euthanized anyway.
This involuntary euthanasia was motivated by bigotry against people with dementia, masked as compassion. What other conclusion can we reach? That she was no longer compos mentis, so her opinion about her own life was unimportant?
@CCamosy
Bishop Ambrose as quoted in the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
"Those whose usurious and avaricious dealings lead to the hunger and death of their brethren in the human family indirectly commit homicide, which is imputable to them"
Happy feast.
Has the Catholic Church always opposed abortion??

Do people who oppose legalized suicide think it’s better for a person to shit the bed for 3-5 years in a state of dementia? What exactly is your worldview?
Listen to my friend Louis Brown, CMF Director. If you're in Michigan, please get out and vote against (absolutely wild) abortion extremism. Among other reasons, do it in defense of racial justice.
1. PP hires physician CEO
2. CEO "tried to refocus the organization’s mission and image as a health provider offering a wide array of services"
3. PP fires CEO for not focusing on abortion advocacy
4. media will still claim abortion is 3% of what PP does
abortion rights activists: OK pro-lifers, then we should force the dads to pay child support for unborn babies!
@bdomenech
: "Your terms are acceptable."
physical pain doesn't even make the top-5 reasons people request to be killed by a doctor. fear of being a burden on others (makes your note about 100K number revealing) does. disability groups (not "conservative") also HATE physician-assisted killing. your lens is deeply flawed.
Let's discuss Assisted Dying
Someone has a verified terminal illness. They are going to die in agonising pain and cost the NHS £100k. With their blessing, their organs can be used to save others with forethought rather than reaction.
What's the conservative argument against?
“Of the nine states with the largest coronavirus outbreaks at long-term care facilities, New York was the only state to omit the deaths of residents who died at hospitals from its reporting, at the time that the DCNF published its investigation.”
our opponents on abortion simply don't understand the science: six week old heart uses muscle contractions to unidirectionally pump blood thru the embryo's body exchanging O2 & CO2. ("The Developing Human" by Moore et al 10th Edition.)
So,
@PoppyNoor
and the
@Guardian
managed to do a story on what a pregnancy looks like (takeaway: "it doesn't look like what you think") and in the nine week photo, for instance, they *removed the baby from the photo.* This is not a joke! Amniotic sac only.
Yeesh. Per
@Guttmacher
, over the past week, 28 new anti-abortion restrictions were signed into law in seven states, representing "the highest number of new restrictions signed in a single week in at least a decade” — which is REALLY saying something.
This outrageously misleading
@NPR
piece fails to mention the prenatal child here has, um, a four-chambered heart pumping blood. Here's the lesson folks who know the biology learn each time this happens: doctors and journalists will lie/mislead in their pursuit of political ends.
somewhere between 25 and 33 percent of Dems identify as pro-life and want basic civil rights for prenatal children. that the number is only two is an outrage. if not from meddling from the extremist party leadership, there would be dozens of pro-life Democrats on this petition
Two Democrats joined Republicans in asking the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v Wade: Collin Peterson and Dan Lipinski. Completely fucking unacceptable. There should be no room for anti-women’s rights radicals in the Democratic Party.
“If you are above a certain age and we have a shortage of ventilators, you don’t get one,” Cassie Sauer, CEO of the Washington State Hospital Association explained.
Thanks for getting the quote,

This is a clear violation of civil rights.
the replies to this are wild. do people really not know what embryos are and that they are discarded through US IVF processes at an alarming rate? or maybe these are bots just out there to spread disinformation and trouble? or could it be about uncritical, flailing Trump support?
In IVF, embryos are routinely discarded because they have genetic disabilities like Down syndrome.
Then when couples are done implanting embryos, most discard the rest of those embryos.
IVF destroys human lives at an alarming rate.
It is precisely the opposite.
7 in 10 want abortion banned after 12 weeks, which is fundamentally incompatible with Roe/Casey.
Most don't even know what Roe is or how it relates to abortion law.
Nor do they know how wildly extreme the Dem position is on abortion actually is.
77% of Americans want to keep Roe v. Wade. 83% want to keep the ACA’s protection for people with pre-existing conditions. These two health care issues — will shape the fights for all three branches of government in this election.
@JoeBiden
@KamalaHarris
This story about
@JohnBelforLA
signing his state's just-passed heartbeat bill is rightly getting lots of attention. But, in many ways, it is getting the wrong kind of attention and this points to a major flaw in how abortion is covered in the US. 1/
At least 43 abortion clinics have shut their doors in the 30 days since the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June, according to new research.
When the CDC is willing to kill thousands of people in the name of social justice, it's hard to know whom or what to trust.
So I wrote about its shocking failure of judgment, and my crisis of faith in America’s institutions, for

understood properly and in good faith, these two terrible deaths should draw attention to the evidence-free deregulation of the abortion pill and the bad faith of most of those who cheered it. there's little hope these cases will be understood properly and in good faith, however
Kamala lies about the death of Amber Thurman, falsely claiming that "under the Trump abortion ban, her doctors could have faced up to a decade in prison for providing Amber the care she needed."
For years I've explained how (some) pro-choice Catholic Democrats could avoid this judgment. But now one must admit Biden is so far out of step on a matter of mass violence directed against the most vulnerable he is clearly and publicly out of communion.
Massachusetts State Police Trooper Paul O’Connor consoles a distraught man on the Tobin Bridge after successfully talking him out of committing suicide.
This story, which has apparently become even more tragic, is unfortunately not that rare. Though you may be forgiven for not knowing this given how poorly abortion is generally covered in the United States. 1/
behold: the post-Christian conservative eugenic utilitarian who simply doesn't have the moral resources to understand what his opponents believe. many, many more like him are on the way
Let me try to understand the social con position on reproductive issues.
Abortion should be banned so poor people can be forced to give birth.
IVF and surrogacy should also be banned to prevent smart and successful people from reproducing.
Do I have that right?
A friend tells me of yet another nursing home resident who got so depressed/lonely she just stopped eating and was dead 2 weeks later.
We are STILL refusing to find a way to treat our elderly like human beings. These aren't dying of COVID, but the pandemic is still killing them.

Continue to marvel at abortion's ability to make otherwise thoughtful people to lose contact with reality. It is, of course, the working classes who are most anti-abortion while it is the economically privileged classes who are most pro-abortion. And corporations LOVE abortion.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez argues that abortion is a part of the class struggle and that pro-lifers want to help corporations maintain a large workforce.
the fact that anyone can think pro-lifers aren't for procedures which remove a dead baby safely from her mother beggars belief. the pro-life movement has its problems, to be sure, and these include communications. but, my God, how could someone actually come to believe this?
@suzania
You're quite intelligent and quite urbane, and those are the circles in which you live.
There are other circles out there which are rabidly anti-abortion without reason, and who would absolutely blanket condemn the procedure.
