Individual creators often end up franchised in this manner and it sucks. Trevor Henderson suffered this, and now has his ocs being sold in walmart and shady websites, and stolen for games. This shit sucks for individual creators becoming big.
The fact that Welcome Home wasn't a ARG or anything and just an artists ocs and webseries that blew up and became fabdomized tot he point people are stalking the artist drawing porn of their ocs and trying to sell merchandise of their characters is SO depressing

Also... I think one of the weirdest aspects is drawing porn of them. You are just drawing porn of an individual creators ocs without permission. They arent some public forum to do so like a video game, they are ocs like yours or mine. Its very entitled behavior.
