SOME NEWS: Starting next week, I'll be the new Monday-Friday morning show anchor at
@CBS6Albany
! It is a dream come true to become an anchor.
The second photo here was taken as I was on the phone accepting the job while walking around Magic Kingdom. A magical moment indeed.
Just met
@katiecouric
outside the women's bathroom at
@JFKairport
😭 The woman who inspired me to get into this crazy TV news business. Seeing her light up when I told her I'm a morning show anchor and she is part of the reason why was everything. A class act 👏
SIX ON SIX 🥳 Today marks 6 months since I started at
@CBS6Albany
! Time flies when you're having fun! Thanks to all of you for allowing me into your homes each morning to give you the news you need to start your day and (hopefully) making you smile along the way 😊
I will be home again this week after a night in the ER and CT scan confirmed I have tonsillitis again and another abscess on my tonsil. This abscess is TWICE the size of the last one. Having several procedures this week and then getting my tonsils removed. Send healing energy✨️
The power of social media. Since my dad died, I connected on Facebook with his best friend from childhood. Every once in a while, he'll tell me stories I've never heard. Today, he sent me this photo of my dad I've never seen. ❤😭😍

tonight at 10:45!
Yesterday, someone criticized me on FB for sharing my feelings and experience working in Orlando after learning of the death of Dylan Lyons. I'm here to say everyone has every right to feel the way they feel and not have those feelings policed. Happy Friday, y'all.
A quick PSA:
Someone told me today they couldn't take me seriously because of my height. That was the first of two people to comment on my size today.
Just so everyone knows: you are perfect the way you are and don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
Watched the 11pm news in New York City tonight and not a single reporter was live. They all taped tags for their stories. Guess what? It looked great. And CLEAN. Average news viewer would have no idea. If there's no reason to be live, there's no reason to be live.
After 4 years, my time at
@fox35orlando
is ending. Friday is my last day. Here, I reported & anchored, covering the full gamut of FL stories. I always thought it would be so cool to live here for a couple years. So happy I did it. Our next adventure is north & closer to family 😊
Last night was my last night at
@fox35orlando
. It's been an incredible ride. The fam and I have hit the road, headed north. Our hearts are sad but full ❤ Thanks for everything, Orlando.
And on my last Saturday night in Harrisburg, alone in my apartment with boxes, a good book and a plastic cup of amaretto, I’m greeted with fireworks. A final goodbye from the Capital City. Cheers.
Good morning! Today is my Friday! I took tomorrow off for my birthday 🎂 I'm thinking of wearing this dress again to dinner this weekend. No judgment, right? 😆
Say hello to our new little studio table!!!
Shout out to management for this perfect little solution for us, so we don't have to hide our breakfast under the anchor desk and hop off and on our tall chairs to eat and drink in the AM. It's the little things 😀
@CBS6Albany
Our job as journalists is exponentially important for delivering vital life-saving info about coronavirus. And yet, a man called me a vulture and mooned me this wk & a relative yelled at me for being in a car with a coworker. Have compassion for reporters working to keep you safe
I am back this morning after...
4:39:18 - A NEW MARATHON PERSONAL RECORD!!! Shaved off 14 minutes from my previous
@nycmarathon
finish in 2017! This race was my redemption race. An opportunity to run the NYC Marathon again, but faster, stronger & with my daughter watching. 💪
My mama is coming to visit Sunday. It will be the first time I've seen her since August. And the first/only time she will see me pregnant. The emotions....I can't even put into words. ❤️💯🙏🙌❤️
Today marks one year since we took this incredible photo of our daughter, mid-spitup. You know that as parents, we will ensure this photo haunts her forever, right? 🤣
Apparently I'm channeling The Rock this morning. Thank you
@ChetDavisCBS6
for making this side-by-side that I'm definitely not embarrassed by 😅
@CBS6Albany
This weekend is my last weekend anchoring at
@CBS21NEWS
. My last day here is Wednesday. I've accepted a special projects reporter/anchor job at the Fox O&O in Orlando, FL & start next month! Thanks, Central PA for everything!
Shout out to my mom, who bought me this cashmere scarf for Chanukah, which is both tres chic and keeping me delightfully warm in this 17-degree weather 🥶
I love when PIOs respond to my email with a generic statement and don't actually answer the questions I've asked. As if I'm not going to go on-air and say "[So-and-so] sent us this statement, but didn't answer our questions about X, Y and Z."
#ProcessJournalism
So happy to be back! It's been a long couple of weeks of sickness but
@JuliaDunnWRGB1
has done a great job, and the team is easing me back in. We have all your headlines, weather and traffic this til 7 on
@CBS6Albany
and 7-8 on the CW15!
As a Jewish woman who has reported on countless Christmas stories over the years, it makes me REALLY happy when I get to do a story about the Jewish holidays. I usually need a 'hook' to make it happen. Thanks, COVID. L'shana tova!

UPDATE: I had surgery yesterday. I got my tonsils out and will be off the air for a few weeks as I recover. I am in a lot of pain and also dizzy from meds, but I hope to be on the mend soon. I am very grateful to my family, friends and doctors at Albany ENT. And to all of you!
Y'all,
@CBS6Alyssa
is killing me this morning. Five seconds before coming back from commercial, she told our director "but I have a banana in my mouth" so...she did her weather headlines with the banana in hand 😆
@CBS6Albany
It’s been a minute but I’m baaaaaack. Filling in this morning on
#GDO
. We are tracking
#HurricaneIda
and the latest

numbers. Tune in! We are on the air til 10am.

No makeup. No earrings. But yes to hot chocolate. Been thinking about
@dunkindonuts
hot chocolate since
@CBS6Alyssa
@JuliaDunnWRGB1
and I talked about it on the air this morning! Delish!
TIME FLIES! I forgot to post it because I was away last week, but last week marked my one year anniversary at
@CBS6Albany
! My life has changed dramatically since I started working here - and in all GOOD ways! Thank you all for welcoming me into your homes each morning ❤️
This weekend we welcomed Brooke Audrey with her Hebrew name, Beryl Adinah. In Judaism, we traditionally name children after relatives who have died. Brooke/Beryl is named after my dad, Bruce/Beryl. Audrey/Adinah is after her great-grandmas, Adele & Audrae. So many watching over🙏
Bouncing into 30 like....
Back in Orlando after an incredible birthday weekend with friends and family in New York. Cant express how thrilled I am to start this new decade in Central Florida.

It’s hard for me to fit into 240 characters how much fun I had snuggling with our new little guy all morning long. We love him so much!

Shout out to
@CBS6CraigAdams
for bringing back some PURE maple syrup for me after his liveshots this morning! He is the best - and I can't wait to try it!

Hi, everyone. A health update here for those of you wondering where I've been this week. Thank you for your kind messages, and I hope to be back at work soon! 🙏
@CBS6Albany
Excited to announce I've received my 6th Emmy nomination! A team effort for a great show with
@AJacksonTV
! We are up against some stiff competition and some amazing journalism and storytelling, but I'm honored to be recognized by the
@SuncoastEmmys
for the first time!
IT'S OFFICIAL! I'm running the
@nycmarathon
again this year!!! I'll be raising money for
@caringkindnyc
, which is a great cause supporting Alzheimer's caregivers. This will be my first marathon since I last ran NY with this team in 2017 🏃♀️ 😊 🏅
Hubs captured the moment I learned last night I’d won my second Emmy.
#fox35
won for team coverage of the Black Lives Matter protests downtown this summer. Proud to be part of this team and such a historic time in journalism.
Anotha one! 🏆
So proud of
@LaraGreenbergTV
and the FOX35 crew on their Emmy win for covering the BLM protests in Orlando! Lara was an integral part of the live coverage and spearheaded their Emmy submission. Daily reporting like this is HARD and this award is well deserved
If my hair is any indication, the wind and cold made today's Upstate Classic Half Marathon incredibly challenging. But in my first half post-baby, I did much better than expected. 2:04:35 and 5th place in my division! Now we celebrate!
Hey y'all! Im coming back to work tomorrow. If you know me, you know I'll be wearing a smiling face. Also know that I'm so sad and overwhelmed about saying goodbye to my baby for long hours. Any words of wisdom for coming back from maternity leave? - Thx,
#newmama
I already told my boss it's going to be pretty tough to beat today's 5pm broadcast. Just a few minutes into it, while anchoring, I felt my baby kick for the first time! 🥰😭🥰
Don't worry - we'll still have news, weather, and smiles for you tonight on
#FOX35
at 10 and 11.
New glasses, who dis? Fun fact: I've had the same glasses for 13 years (!!) Turns out my prescription doubled! Driving to work was amazing today. Didn't realize how bad my vision got until I could finally see again!
Good morning! My first time anchoring in Studio B! It's nice in here...albeit a little quiet all by myself. Thank goodness for the producers talking in my ear! 😂 Stay tuned to
#GDO
on this Weather Alert Day!
#fox35
A big THANK YOU to my supportive coworkers and all of YOU for cheering me on as I get ready to run the New York City Marathon this weekend!
@CBS6Albany
Went to bed heartbroken last night after learning that my good friend, former colleague and mentor
@RobbHanrahan
had died. After his retirement and heart attack two years ago, I could tell he got a new lease on life & I'm so happy he did. I miss him so much ❤
Thank you all for the birthday wishes! I don't know that I've ever been happier than I am right now: a job I love with a great team + incredible family and friends. Suffice to say 34...you lookin' real good.
Notice anything?
First time wearing contact lenses! Trying them out after years with glasses and a worsening astigmatism. With all my reading on the teleprompter these days, it seemed like the right time to do right by my eyes! 🤓
Just experienced my first earthquake! In LA. It was crazy! Lasted longer than I thought - light poles shaking, pool water swishing. Completely uneasy but we are okay.
I'm back! Bonjour! A few more pics from my husband's and my fabulous trip to Paris last week. I visited Paris 15 years ago for 72 hours and have been talking about it to my husband ever since. We finally made the trip together ❤️
Wore black today in honor of Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year for Jewish people. I'm working because, frankly, I forgot to take off. But I am fasting and plan to attend a Yizkor service later in memory of my dad. To all those observing, have an easy fast today! 🕯
When I'm sick, I always wish my dad were still alive. As a dentist, he had the most clinical, smartest medical mind and could always talk me through any ailment. The tonsillitis and abscess I'm suffering from is excruciating, and so is how much I miss my dad right now.
On the last night of my 20’s, I am eating alone at the airport with a margarita, watching the FL sun set and the Yankees play the Red Sox, waiting to fly home and celebrate my birthday with friends in family at the beach in NY. I have never felt more fulfilled or grateful.
Happy New Year!
Thinking of my dad today on what would have been his 71st birthday. Looking at this old picture, I'm realizing Brooke is about the same age now as I was in this photo. My God, how he would eat her up.
