Newest mapping of the perimeter of the

shows the most active part of the fire very close to Piru Creek. Once it crosses the creek there is nothing but mountainous terrain ahead of it. Expect an uptick in activity once it crosses the creek.

The main head of the fire has bumped into Pyramid Lake but it seems it has already jumped the .20 mile wide area of water. The fire appears burning along this mountain now. The slopes ahead of it look heavily loaded with chaparral too, might become a problem later.

Another week another big fire in the Anza area. The intensity that this thing is burning at shows just how dry and dense the fuels are in this area. If we don’t have a good monsoon season this place will be very dangerous during Santa Ana winds season (October).

One of my favorite places ever, the Palm Springs Air Museum. I’m my opinion it is the best Air Museum in the U.S. They frequently flys their planes, the mountains are a perfect background and there are occasional visits by T-45’s and F-18’s. Can’t wait to head back this winter!
