The work GP practices do (and how they do it) matters hugely to #productivity in the NHS. Last week @Cambridge_Uni brought new evidence to light on how seeing the same doctor over time matters (continuity). But that is only half the story… 🧵👇

Nice piece of analysis and commentary from Rachel Hutchings @NuffieldTrust on #Carers working & employed within the NHS - getting this right by supporting working carers has impt implications for retention of highly trained staff.

Agree with the need for evidence to drive policy - always important - but particularly in AI space. @sib313 eloquently making this point. The mythbuster: The idea that AI can solve major NHS problems is marketing snake oil

With a five-year mandate, there is a real opportunity for the new government to bring forward long-awaited reforms for social care & deliver on its promises. @CamilleOung asks an impt Q: what has happened to funding earmarked for social care reform?

Thoughtful reflections from @ashjamesphysio & @HSJnews on first contact physios in primary care. We need more GPs. We need more FCPs. No one gains – least of all, patients – if it becomes a conversation pitching roles against each other. (

@rachelpower222 This is really critical. Patient voice and patient experience need to be core part of thinking about what makes 'good' performance. Also patience experience - both good and bad - drives behaviours that shape value & performance for NHS as a system.

Brilliant conversation on @BBCRadio4 on experience of #carers and value of unpaid caring. Highlighting experience of carers who step out of paid employment to provide care, & challenge of returning to employment.

@MorganSagartia @Davewwest @wesstreeting We have seen a 21% decrease in real terms finding for local authority public health grant in last 7 years - knock impact on prevention agenda including sure start and reduced support for unpaid carers for eg. Investment here is sorely needed.
