If you're looking for a map of where all the fires are: I highly recommend this one, I use it often. Even displays fires out of state, lots right now in Oregon/Washington.
My grandmother was taken to hospital & diagnosed w/ double Pneumonia. We were told she wouldn't make it through the night. She did. Then we got told she had a few days.
Sadly after a 5 week battle she passed away peacefully after becoming ill again. RIP Nana.
Thanks for all of your kind words & replies about the
@WIRED
article that came out today regarding myself & Fire Twitter, you are all too kind. Also thanks to
@BooneAshworth
for getting me out of my shell + putting up w/ the Kiwi accent!

(Sierra NF, Fresno/Madera Co) - 2nd National Guard copter is departing w/ 37 more civilians onboard. That is the last evacuation flight for the night, 2 civilians refused transport & are staying behind. My count: over 200 rescued by the National Guard tonight. 👏
It appears we have lost the Bonny Doon camera aswell due to the
#CZUAugustLightningComplex
, hasn't updated in 3-4 minutes. Third time in 24 hours fire has directly impacted a fire camera site.
Clicked the North Bay camera network by accident.. I've never seen all the cameras look like this (some of those grey ones are out of service). South East Bay network much the same.
Sorry to burst out like this, but I put a LOT of time (16 hours today), pride & effort into producing accurate intel while maintaining continuous coverage on multiple incidents across large areas; delivered without the hyperbole. The above events are frustrating. Thank you.

- All units being told the priority right now is rescue of civilians, the evacuation of civilians & safety of personnel, not the firefight.
If you would like to support the effort that goes into providing these updates all season long, feel free to follow the link below to my Ko-fi. Thank you to those that already have - I appreciate each & every one of you.

- AA7HS thinks the fire will be in Santa Rosa in approximately 2 hours, will hit the Howarth Park area hard, especially along Hwy 12. Evacuate now if in the area.
#Earthquake
(
#Humboldt
Co) - 6.4 magnitude earthquake W/O Ferndale ~25 mins ago. Probably a half dozen calls for FD service in the town of Rio Dell (pop ~3,500), largely reported as gas leaks. Additional resources being ordered if available/surplus to other agency needs.
Couple more of the long lasting NorCal wildfires have been declared 100% contained this evening, they are the

@ 223,124 acres & the

@ 199,359 acres.
#VACAVILLE
- Fire resources are spread extremely thin at the moment. Get out while you can, especially if you live on the outskirts. Anyone west of I-505 & north of I-80 should be evacuating based off radio traffic.
#LNULightningComplex
For all those asking, here is a super handy map to view the locations of fires reported wherever you are. I've set this link to be centered around the North Bay area, but you can click it & move the view elsewhere.

#BlueRidgeFire
(
#YorbaLinda
) - OCFA Copter 1 back over the fire doing night-time drops in Chino Hills, in the area of Glenview St. Fire is now 14,334 acres. Very little to see on the fire cameras, a huge change from last night.
I'll be back later, thank you to those that supported my Ko-fi today.

are on now to continue the coverage. A quick f**k you to the people that take my tweets & manipulate them to add *very bad*, erroneous information, making it look like it comes from me.
Done w/ the
#Colorado
fire coverage for the night - haven't had anything to add for a couple hours, minimal radio traffic & no changes to evacs or the fire perimeter either. Also it is 2022 here in NZ in under an hour! Take care.
I was here the night that
#TubbsFire
burned into Santa Rosa too.. tonight it sounds like it's moving even quicker, it's the same thing happening again. No fire history in the area burning towards Santa Rosa right now, it's in the middle of the 2017 scars.

I recently set up a Ko-fi donation page @ if you are interested in supporting the work that goes into providing all these updates. My sincere thanks to everyone that already has & thank you to everyone for their kind words of appreciation.
Regarding Twitter: Thankfully there isn't a need for Fire Twitter right now & hopefully that continues till next season, so I have time to see what happens & how this all plays out. Won't make any decisions in the short term & will still be here + always on
@watchdutyapp
!
#CreekFire
(Sierra NF, Fresno Co) - Rescue underway via copter of the people @ Mammoth Pools, first National Guard copter has 50+ people on their copter, 12-20 of them require medical attention/transport.
I'm taking an "extended" break for a few hours & will be back to cover the 11pm+ hours - the information flow/discussion on Twitter is probably at its peak right now, so follow along on the hashtag. I haven't had much fresh info off the scanner feeds either.
#Colorado
- Now listening & tweeting these fires. For the
#MarshallFire
near Superior/Louisville: getting lots of calls for wildland/structure fires, gave addrs of 1100 blk W Enclave, 7300 blk Spring Dr (x2), 1100 blk W Dillon Rd, W Dillon Rd @ W Dahlia St + Turnberry Cir
Following a request from the US our Large Air Tanker the ‘Marie Bashir’ will fly to the US in the morning to assist firefighters battling more than 80 fires that have so far burnt more than 400,000 hectares across 13 states. We wish the her and her crew a safe deployment.

Try not to start a wildfire tonight w/ fireworks because California rainfall blew a 28-3 lead to Tom January. Also congrats to the Rams for their

win!
Meanwhile the other CreekFire in Sierra National Forest was declared 100% contained today @ 379,895 acres, due to the change in weather conditions. Began on September 4th.

#BoysenFire
- Reports of fire jumping Calistoga Rd near Plum Ranch Rd & St Helena Rd, which is just over a mile from Santa Rosa city limits. IC advising evacs in progress of 6,000+ homes.
Will be here until about 4am looking out for new potential lightning fires as/if needed - not sure of the cause of the one on Grizzly Peak from just before.
I am off for the night, will try & be back if something big breaks out, but hopefully it doesn't. Nothing new to report. Thanks to those that contributed via my Ko-fi page today. Goodnight!
NorCal residents in particular would be familiar w/ Tanker 134 as during 2019 they were mostly based out of McClellan in Sacramento. They were often the first large air tanker to be sent once the larger tankers were ordered.
They will be missed.
Sadness in the firefighting community tonight, condolences to family, friends and coworkers. They were in Sonoma County this past summer. Tanker 134 went down in Snowy Monaro in NSW, with reports of no survivors.
Thankfully nothing fresh to report fire wise tonight, other than some minor flare-ups on the
#GlassFire
that so far have been well inside the burned area w/ no threat to containment lines. Goodnight.
The
#WoodwardFire
in Marin Co has been looking like this for a couple hours now. AA + lead plane overhead w/ MAFFS planes (National Guard C130s) being assigned out of McClellan. 2 super scoopers also on the fire.
Intel has slowed a bit as the plane that was giving reports/observations (AA7HS) had to depart for fuel, not sure when/if they will be back. I'm here till atleast 4am.

#CaldorFire
(
#GrizzlyFlats
, El Dorado Co/ENF) - Increase in activity in Division 'D' on the N/W side of the fire, additional copters being sent that way including 2 of the Coulson aircraft.
Radio traffic virtually non existent on the N/E of the fire in South Lake Tahoe (feeds are located/orientated on the west end) - hence the lean on photogs on the ground there. Making sure not to RT anything old or vague. Will pass scanner info along if & when it comes.
Thanks to those who checked in, I slept through the massive quakes as usual. If you didn't know: I live in
#NewZealand
& live an hour inland from the ocean, on the other side of a mountain range.
I am off for the night:
@ai6yrham
should be on shortly for more fire updates. Many thanks to the people that have supported my Ko-Fi page & to everyone that has just been simply polite in general when asking questions & messaging me. Goodnight!
The
#JimFire
in Cleveland NF/Orange Co in the area between Holy Jim Falls + the end of Holy Jim Canyon Rd. Mapped @ 60+ acres already by FIRIS, being worked by several tankers + copters. Just outside (1/4 mile) the
#HolyFire
scar from 2018 if pinned location is correct.
#BlueRidgeFire
(
#YorbaLinda
) - Priority traffic for a herd of 100 cattle that is immediately threatened by fire, going to work w/ helicopters & tankers to drop in front of them, along Hwy 71 halfway between Butterfield Ranch & the 91. Needs traffic S/B 71 traffic shut down.
#DixieFire
(Feather River Canyon, Plumas/Butte Co) - Overhearing aircraft talking about how the column has collapsed - easy to see in the images below 15 mins apart (left = earlier, right = now). 9 tankers working the area S/W of Bald Eagle Mtn, south/east of Hwy 70.
#NapaCounty
- CAL FIRE sending a response for this new vegetation fire near 2300 Old Soda Springs Rd north of
#Napa
. Visible on the cameras. This will be the
#OldFire
.
#SilveradoFire
(Orange Co) - The evacuation map has been updated w/ evacuation orders all the way down to Irvine Blvd now & have been expanded to the south towards Alton Pkwy past the 241/133 split.
>
Napa Co sending a full response to Hwy 29 near the top end of Old Lawley Toll Rd, by Table Rock - appears to be fire within the

burn however looking @ the camera. It is going to be called the
#TableFire
if it is anything new.
#BearFire

#NorthComplex
- The message is blunt on the feed: if people have stayed after being ordered to evacuate hours in advance, they may not be able to help them. Resources are stretched thin but they are doing what they can. Reports of more people trapped on Canyon Creek Rd.
#LakeFire
(
#LakeHughes
, LA County,
#ANF
) - 6,000 acres & it's approximately 1 hour 40 mins since the first call came in.
Doubling the type 1 engine strike team order to a total of 10 type 1 engine strike teams (50 engines total).
It's only taken me.. 80 minutes to realize that the Lexington Hill cameras that were focused on the

went down around 04:00 & I've been looking at the same image since.
#GlassFire
(Napa-Sonoma Co) - View of the fire above
#Calistoga
just before & after the camera went into night mode. Again, all of Calistoga is under mandatory evacuation. Radio traffic talking about using containment lines from the LNU Lightning Complex.
#BlueRidgeFire
(
#YorbaLinda
) - Anticipated increase in winds seemingly has arrived over the fire, much more visible now north & N/E of Gypsum Canyon. Radio traffic remains quiet however, will post updates as they come.
Pulling the plug early tonight, need to catch up on some sleep & haven't had a whole lot to listen to tonight, things are pretty quiet on the radio traffic front. A lot of haze on the cameras too, can't see much. Goodnight.
Back covering things.. will take it through till about 4am tonight for now.
#SilveradoFire
: Two copters working the area above Foothill Ranch - OCFA Copter 2 + 42CU (the Chinook).
Don't see any copters other than media over the

, will see if that changes.

#NorthComplex
- 6 firefighters were sheltering on Burr Ln off Lumpkin Rd due to fire activity & their crew buggy was on fire. They have been rescued from the area by other firefighters & 1 ambulance is sufficient to treat one of them for a respiratory issue.
Calling it an early night in anticipation of being back early tomorrow, there isn't a whole lot to listen to right now, plus some of the scanner feeds are down (whether it be due to power outage, owner had to evacuate etc). Be safe. Thanks to those who hit my Ko-fi.
#BobcatFire
(Angeles NF) - Division 'Z' (south end of the fire) reporting significant increase of fire activity from the main fire in the last hour or so & it is out-pacing their firing operation - wants LA County copters if available. Images from College Peak + Mt Wilson.
#SCULightningComplex
- Units in the area of the previously reported downstrike, have 3 confirmed new fires outside the line but none are building in size yet. Area north of Hwy 152, near the San Luis Reservoir.
I am off for a while, will try to be back around 1pm when things should be heating up again. Radio traffic in the
#Vacaville
area has slowed down a bit but still lots of fire activity in there.
Okay this insane. A pilot on the plane in front of us just went rogue and took off on an empty plane bypassing orders from the tower. The tower ordered a full stop and they’re trying to communicate with that pilot. Whaaaaaat!
Visibility so poor across NorCal that I don't see any tankers currently working any of the 5 major incidents. 1/2 acre fire just knocked down in the
#Ono
area of Shasta Co @ Rector Creek Rd & Old Canal Rd - usually would've been on the left side of this camera (
#CreekFire
).
Twitter is the only place I post my information on; if it is seen anywhere else, it may not be exactly what I have reported on here. Also to the kids that make accounts to harass myself & others on; I could name you & shame you but you're not worth the air time.
#Healdsburg
(Sonoma Co) - Numerous fires reported in the area, nothing too big yet, at least 7 fires. 10 additional any type engines requested due to the number of fires. Latest ones seem to be up Mill Creek Rd. Also follow along on the
@watchdutyapp
. No large scale evacs needed.
