A quick service stop before arriving at the ferry terminal. I’ve never seen a bunch that have slept so well! The few tears we had disappeared by the Tyne Bridge. Next stop 🚢🚢🇫🇷🇫🇷
An hour paying respects at Bayeux Memorial. We were invited to join a service delivered by current military personnel, joining them in remembrance. Incredibly proud of the respect shown by our children.
What better day than WBD to say a huge thank you to
@LJRossAuthor
who has generously donated funds to school to allow us to build & develop an outdoor reading area and buy new books for our library. A huge THANK YOU from all the children! The first of the new books have arrived!
A huge thank you to Armstrong Allotments who have donated all of these flowers and vegetables to help make our edible gardens full of life. Also big thanks go to Tracey (our School Business Manager) and her husband Billy, who gave up their own time to make sure they look fab.
Bonjour! We have arrived in France!! A super smooth journey with no seasickness. We made the most of the views, stretching our legs and enjoying a Starbucks.
Byker Primary heads to parliament! I’m so, so proud of our school being asked to be included in the parliamentary review as an outstanding school! What an achievement made possible by the efforts of our pupils, staff and local community!

Yesterday was another great day for Year 6 in France. It stayed dry for us whilst we visited The chocolate factory, Fougères Castle and St James’ Cemetery. We even managed a couple of hours on the field. For dinner we tried snails and frog legs. Joyeux Anniversaire Brianna!
After a busy day of activities, and now that everyone has been showered and well-fed, we are settling in for another movie tonight. Elf is the film tonight, with hot chocolate and some left over cake.
Great to see so many of our Byker Primary School pupils and parents here at
@UniofNewcastle
for our children’s graduation ceremony after a week of hard work with

An afternoon visit to a German Memorial, where children were also very respectful. One more stop and then back to the chateau for showers before dinner.
Year 4.11 arrived at Kingswood earlier today. All pupils have now been allocated their room and we our now going to explore the site before our activities, which will happen later on today!

We’ve said our goodbyes at High Borrans and are on our way home. Looks like we’ll be back around about half 1. Feel free to come and collect your children then.
Our garden party to celebrate Mrs Bradley’s contribution to Byker Primary over the last 19 years and her retirement is in full-swing. Parents are welcome from 2:30pm-4pm in the marquee on the grass for a buffet and drinks reception to show your appreciation.
