Former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta delivered a keynote address at the East Africa Region Global Health Security Summit in Mombasa on January 29, 2025. In his speech, he urged African leaders to stop lamenting over U.S. President Donald Trump's withdrawal of health aid to Africa, emphasizing the need for self-reliance and proactive solutions. Kenyatta challenged leaders to view the aid withdrawal as a wake-up call, stating, "I saw some people crying the other day that Trump has withdrawn aid. Why are you crying? Itโs not your country, he has no reason to give you anything, you donโt pay taxes in America." He encouraged African nations to utilize their resources effectively and invest in their own health systems to address challenges independently. Do you agree with him?

The organization emphasized that global health challenges require collective action and cooperation among nations, warning that a withdrawal by the U.S.โone of its largest financial contributorsโcould disrupt critical health programs worldwide. WHO also reiterated its commitment to working with all member states to ensure that public health remains a top priority, despite political differences. Should the U.S. rethink its WHO withdrawal?

U.S. President Donald Trump has reaffirmed his stance on relocating Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring Jordan and Egypt, despite both countries strongly opposing the proposal. When questioned about their refusals during a policy discussion on 31st January 2025, Trump responded, "They will do it. They are going to do it, OK? We do a lot for them, and they are going to do it." , Trump insisted. Both Jordan and Egypt have repeatedly rejected any plans for large-scale resettlement, emphasizing that the solution to the crisis should focus on ending hostilities and securing Palestinian rights rather than forced displacement.
