I'm heartbroken about Derrick Rose. Not just because it's officially the end of an era, but because I feel sad for those who didn’t get to see what we saw in Derrick. I'm sad Derrick didn't get to live out his dream of bringing Chicago banner #7. I'm sad Derrick didn't get another chance to take down LeBron and the Heatles. I'm sad Derrick had to go through all the pain, the monotonous rehab, and the devastation of one injury after another. I'm sad that Chicago's son had a career cut short—so many would-be highlights and iconic moments to inspire future generations, taken away. But through all that sadness, Derrick has perhaps done even more than any of us could have imagined. He persevered through immense struggle, one obstacle after another, continuously attacking him like an endless full-court press. And he simply fought through it. He was given an athlete's greatest challenge and somehow mastered the mental fortitude needed to get to this point—someone who rose above it all and bravely gave his best effort when anyone else might have hung it up early and called it a day. Perhaps we don’t see it now, but his journey, the lessons we can take from it, and the inspiration we can harvest from it just might be as important as banner #7. I'm so incredibly thankful for his supernova of a career, one that shined with immeasurable brightness even for a short period of time. It brought Chicagoans and basketball fans some of their fondest memories. #TheReturn is still very much in play—just not in a way we might have expected, and perhaps in a way even greater than we realize. I'm sad today, @DRose. But I'm optimistic that happiness awaits. In the meantime, I’m damn proud of you.

I think there's a chance Coby/Ayo continue to improve their value over the rest of the season allowing us to get a higher return over the summer. Does the 140% rule apply to their new teams?
