Lovely to welcome our new Year 7 cohort this morning into their first assembly with their Head of Year Mrs Lee, Headteacher Mr Hardwick, and Deputy Headteacher Mrs German, before heading into their first lessons!
This year we have a record breaking number of students who will be taking up a place at Oxford and Cambridge. 5 of our students have attained this prestigious accomplishment this year. An outstanding achievement!
We are pleased to announce that the Labour Party has won the Bullers Wood Election. Total seats won: Labour 27, Lib Dem 23, Conservatives 7, Green 3, Brexit 0. Well done to all of our representatives and thanks to the student helpers.

Year 7 are having lots of fun at the Summer School this week. So far we have had crime scene investigations, baking, problem-solving games, dancing and art!
Over the past few days team 1 have trekked to the Arenal volcano and the waterfall in La Fortuna where they swam, although the weather has been rainy they are all still enjoying themselves!
Our school community is saddened by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II today. We are grateful for her selfless dedication to our nation and our thoughts are with her family and those close to her that feel her loss at this time.
Having just landed in Mexico City Airport, both Team 1 and Team 2 are getting ready for their final flight home! Lots of smiles as the teams share their amazing experiences, and all are looking forward to heading home after their 3 week expedition! See you soon in Heathrow! 😊

Team 2 girls have finished their trekking. They did an incredible job walking for miles with heavy bags. They are now doing some well deserved relaxing in Quepos with pizza, pools and some exciting activities in the days to come.
It has been lovely to see nearly 90% of our Yr10 students from the X half this week and a lot of Yr12, with positive feedback from students, teachers and parents/carers.
Looking forward to seeing the Y half of Yr10 and the rest of Yr12 next week!

Congratulations to our Jack Petchey Winners, honoured at the Churchill Theatre last week. They received awards for sporting achievements, commitment to the music department, helping a member of the public who was taken ill, kindness, resilience, helpfulness and hard work.
Year 8 had a wonderful time yesterday, shopping in Melun and swimming in Aquaboulevard. We are now on our way to Parc Astérix for a day full of adrenaline. This evening: snail tasting and disco!
It was wonderful to meet our Year 6 students yesterday who will be joining us in September. We have set them some summer challenges with house points up for grabs. All they need to do is complete the task, take a picture and show their form tutor in September.
Year 8 had a wonderful day in Paris yesterday. Now off to Melun for a bit of shopping, picnic by the river and then Aquaboulevard for a refreshing afternoon.
Well done to Y7 footballers who won 6-4 against a very strong Bishop Justus team in the Kent Cup and now advance to the Quarterfinals! Amelie and Georgia scored all our goals. The Y7/8 team are next in action on 10 Nov. If they win they advance to final 16 of the Kent Cup.

This morning there was a wonderful buzz of excitement and celebration as students take in the how well they have done. After receiving their results students have been confirming their place and courses at Bullers Wood Sixth Form.
Congratulations to all our Year 13 and Year 11 students who achieved excellent results in the most challenging of circumstances. We are very proud of you and wish you all the best in the next stage of your education or career!
Y7 are Celebrating Languages this afternoon with Japanese Origami, a French café, Spanish Day of the Dead mask making and German Lanterns for St. Martin’s Day. Students have been enjoying learning about the different cultures, festivals and trying crêpes au chocolat!
Team 2 are on their community project in Ostional. They've seen many turtles, been clearing the beach so that hatchlings can make it to the sea safely and playing with local children!
Team 1 have endured all Monteverde has to offer and are now back in San Jose for the night! Tomorrow the team venture 'off the beaten track' to Cerro Ena for their 4 day adventure immediately followed by their 5 day community project at San Jeronimo!
Huge thanks to our amazing Friends of Bullers Wood who supported with the transformation of our changing rooms during the half term break, and our dedicated site team for making it happen🏅
Our Young Carers' group held a drop in session yesterday where they provided information and spoke to students about their caring roles. Lots of honest questions were asked, starting some great conversations. There was also plenty of cake!

First coach group on the Germany trip is now enjoying the theme park Phantasialand in the sunshine! Second group have just staged an amazing fashion show and are now on their way to the theme park :)
Our sixth form netball team won the U18 netball shield today with wins today against Jags B, Eltham B, Blackheath, St Dunstans B, and Olaves B. Amazing result! Well done girls
