Turning Suffering into the Path of Enlightenment ๐ชท Many fear suffering, but in Buddhism, it is seen as a powerful teacher, a tool for transformation. Just as fire refines gold, hardships refine the Mind, making it stronger and wiser. Let's imagine a river. When obstacles like rocks and fallen branches appear, the water does not stop. It flows around them, sometimes over them, but always forward. In the same way, life's struggles - illness, loss, disappointment - should not break us. Instead, they guide us to deeper understanding, helping us let go of what is temporary and embrace what is lasting. Worldly pleasures - wealth, status, comfort - can make us forget what truly matters. When suffering shakes us, it is like an alarm clock waking us from a dream. It reminds us to turn inward, to practice mindfulness, and to seek refuge in The Buddhaโs compassion. Inner Peace does not come from avoiding suffering but from transforming it. When we accept challenges with patience and wisdom, suffering loses its power over us. Every hardship becomes a steppingstone toward enlightenment, leading into boundless peace. ๐๐ #Buddhism #Buddha #Buddhist #MindfulLiving #Mindfulness #Mindful #Peace #Meditation #Meditate #Dhyana #Dharma #SpiritualJourney #SPIRITUAL #compassion #Kindness #Wisdom

"When one gives birth to hatred for an individual, one should direct one's thoughts to the fact of his being the product of his actions: 'This venerable one is the doer of his actions, heir to his actions, born of his actions, related by his actions, and has his actions as his arbitrator. Whatever action he does, for good or for evil, to that will he fall heir.' Thus the hatred for that individual should be subdued. ๐๐ Source: Aghatavinaya Sutta [Anguttara Nikaya, The Pali Canon] #Buddhism #Buddha #Buddhist #PaliCanon #quotes #quotesdaily #SPIRITUAL #spiritualawakening #MindfulMoments #Mindfulness #Mindful #meditation #Meditate #Dharma

Its not Denial in the sense of Sentience of Beings. The teaching simply challenges the idea of a Permanent, Unchanging Soul. Think of it like a flowing river - each moment is unique in the sense that the river exists in that moment's snapshot of time and space, yet the river itself is never fixed. It's changing moment to moment. Buddhism shows that what we call "self" or "soul" is just a series of changing phenomenon, not an eternal essence. This insight isnโt a denial of individuality but an invitation to embrace change and live without the burden of a false, fixed identity. ๐

@BenefactrChurch @khoiiiind @ddmatta Life is paradoxical. When you have to walk out of a room, you still need to walk through the room. Only difference is that while walking through the room, one has to make sure that one is not running in circles because then one will be stuck.

Arupadhatu represents a state of Mind that is calm and undisturbed, and as per the simile you gave - like an ocean unruffled by winds. It reflects a deep inner peace where one transcends the usual pull of physical existence, desires etc. yet it remains a stepping stone rather than the complete liberation that Nibbana is. Because Nibbana cannot be expressed in words and in our ordinary languages, anything we say about it would not explain what it really is like. ๐๐๐

@CeylonShiping The quoted expression is from Buddhist Master Hsing Yun. Not from Shakyamuni Himself.

Anathapindika's Unwavering Devotion to The Buddha In the heart of ancient city of Sravasti, a wealthy merchant named Anathapindika - once known as Sudatta - shined like a light of selfless generosity. His deep devotion to The Buddha was as radiant as the morning Sun, inspiring him to create a monastery where the Dharma could flourish like a well-tended garden. Moved by The Buddhaโs teachings, he embarked on a quest to build a grand monastery, much like a devoted gardener searching for the perfect soil to nurture his beloved plants. Anathapindika's journey led him to Prince Jetaโs beautiful garden, an enchanting place. The prince, hesitant at first, set a seemingly impossible price: the land must be paved with gold. Undeterred, Anathapindika spread his gold coins across the garden, his faith unwavering like the constant rhythm of a peaceful river. Witnessing this sincere offering, Prince Jetaโs heart softened, and he gifted the land to help build the monastery. Therefore, under the wise guidance of Shakyamuni Buddha's Principal Disciple Sariputra, Jetavana Monastery was built, surpassing even the grandest royal palaces in splendor. Jetavana Monastery became a hub of The Buddhaโs teachings, spreading wisdom and compassion. Anathapindikaโs generosity left an everlasting mark on Buddhism, proving that true wealth lies in selfless giving. ๐ #Buddhism #Buddha #Buddhist #History #historical #MindfulLiving #Mindfulness #Mindful #PaliCanon #Peace #Meditation #Meditate #Dhyana #Dharma #SpiritualJourney #SPIRITUAL #compassion #Kindness #Wisdom

The Path to Tranquillity in The Buddha's Teachings โธ๏ธ Dear Friends, As recorded in the sacred ฤnisaแนsavaggo scripture in the Anguttara Nikaya from The Pali Canon, Shakyamuni Buddha illuminates a path leading to tranquillity. He explains that practising virtuous conduct naturally brings about a state of Mind that is free from remorse. This clarity of Mind fosters delight, which blossoms into joy. For example, imagine a calm lake. Its surface is untroubled and clear. Our virtuous actions are like gentle streams feeding this lake, keeping it pure. As joy arises, it soothes the body and mind, leading to tranquillity - a deep, peaceful stillness, like the serene depths of the lake untouched by the wind. For Buddhist practitioners, this teaching is a guiding star. By cultivating virtue, we set in motion a chain of positive states: from non-remorse to delight, joy, and ultimately tranquillity. This tranquillity becomes the foundation for deeper concentration and insight, guiding us toward liberation. Thus, The Buddha's words in these ancient scriptures of Early Buddhism remind us that the journey to inner peace begins with simple, virtuous actions, leading us step by step to the deep tranquillity and liberation we seek. ๐๐ #Buddhism #Buddha #MindfulLiving #Mindfulness #Mindful #meditation #Meditate #Relaxation #Enlightenment #SPIRITUAL #SpiritualJourney #Spirituality #PaliCanon

Being a Buddhist simply means being a practitioner of the Dharma, following the path of wisdom and compassion as taught by Shakyamuni Buddha. But yes ultimately, enlightenment is a journey only you can walk - no teacher, Master, group, or belief can realize enlightenment for you. To heed this teaching is to explore deeply, question sincerely, and realize truth for yourself. ๐๐

The True Measure of Dharma ๐ชท Dear Friends, Once, Potowa Rinchen Sal asked the Great Master Geshe Tonpa, โHow do we distinguish Dharma from non-Dharma?โ With calm wisdom, the Geshe replied, โIf it counteracts negative emotions, it is Dharma. If it fuels them, it is non-Dharma.โ Geshe Tonpa teaches us that True Dharma does not feed anger, pride, or greed - it dissolves them like sunlight melts the morning mist. Geshe Tonpa gave us the Dharma Testing tool. If an action aligns with worldly ambitions, seeking praise, wealth, or status, then it is not Dharma. True Dharma walks a different path, free from attachment to worldly gain. Geshe Tonpa further explained, โIf it aligns with the scriptures and the guidance of realized masters, it is Dharma. If it strays, it is not.โ Just as a river follows its course to the ocean, Dharma follows the wisdom of the enlightened ones. Finally, the Geshe said, โIf it leaves a positive imprint, it is Dharma. If it creates harm, it is not.โ Like seeds that blossom into fragrant flowers, true Dharma leaves behind peace, wisdom, and compassion for all beings. ๐๐๐ #Buddhism #Buddha #Buddhist #Tibet #Tibetan #TibetanBuddhism #MindfulLiving #Mindfulness #Mindful #Peace #Meditation #Meditate #Dharma #SpiritualJourney #SPIRITUAL #compassion #Kindness #Wisdom

I'm not sure what you're trying to imply here, but Buddhism does include martial traditions such as Shaolin Kung Fu. However, Dharma is not so weak that it needs "defending". On the contrary, Dharma defends its practitioners through wisdom and compassion. True strength lies in living the Dharma, not fighting for it.

The philosophy of peace is timeless, while the philosophy of the sword rises and falls with history. Just because the other side wields a sword and marches toward suffering through their Karma, it doesnโt mean we need to follow them to Hell as well. True strength lies in breaking the cycle, not fueling it. ๐
