GTJ on ball defense Pt 1.
The “Gary Trent Jr isn’t good on defense anymore” stuff is a lie. From what I’ve watched, GTJ was an above average - good defender last season. Honestly he was just asked to be the main defender less in TOR because they always had a lot of defenders
Jimmy Butler when guarded by Giannis last night:
22 possessions
0 points
0 field goals attempted
0 free throws
Giannis was physical with Jimmy from the jump and Jimmy wanted no part of Giannis at any point last night.

Dame: “I saw somebody say “Dame’s not happy in Milwaukee” or something like that. And i know the truth. I love the situation that I’m in. I also know what i have going on outside of basketball that kinda drains me at times.”
All the media hating on
#Bucks
and now are trying to run Dame out of Milwaukee just like they have been trying to do to Giannis.
Dame sees the doubters and the hate, we are about to see vintage Dame Time folks.
It is time to lock in and put your trust in this man! ⌚️
Andre Iguodala on if Rasheed Wallace played in todays NBA
"If Rasheed Wallace played in our league today, he’d be a top-5 player. He’d be better than Giannis & I love Giannis."

We’ve heard everyone say how Doc has defined guys roles on the team but here Dame actually gives us an example of how Doc is doing that and a little glimpse of how in-depth he’s getting with stuff.
“Anyone who told you, you couldn’t play defense lied… our half court defense was excellent”
“I thought tonight was an offensive loss. I didn’t think we were crisp offensively”
We don’t make it to Dame Time if not for this shot from Brook. What a shot Brook sprinting to the corner, catches it while still on the move, sets his feet and knocks it down with a hand in his face.
Their plan worked with him last season. He was ready for the playoffs (38mpg) and was the best or second best player on the floor. I am not worried about this at all.
Sources: Milwaukee Bucks star Khris Middleton (procedures on both ankles) has not been cleared for five-on-five action with training camp commencing Oct. 1. He’s progressing nicely, but team is taking a cautious approach as he’s expected to take part in most of camp activities.

guard Damian Lillard reflects on a transitional year in Milwaukee - and how a normal summer has him looking forward to a bigger season:
“I told you – when I’m right – you gonna know.”

Pretty cool quote from the Dame post game interview last night. Dame said that was the first time him and Khris really communicated like they did down the stretch of a game.
Doc Rivers - Master of Practice
(Dame breaking down how Doc has helped them rep the two man game and continue to look for each other even after the first action)

Bucks fans, you can’t feel good about this one but this is how Celtics fans felt after beating the Wolves the night before (who were on the second night of a back to back)
Can’t feel too good though!!!
Bucks fans shouldn’t feel too good about this game they have rested since Monday and this is the minutes the Celtics starters played last night in a B2B Against the top west team then traveled to Milwaukee enjoy the scheduled loss 😂
What was Giannis Antetokounmpo able to do today?
Doc Rivers: "Yeah, he did a lot of floor stuff today. Probably the most I've seen."
Just walking/jogging?
Rivers: "He was shooting and moving today."
Rivers also mentioned that Antetokounmpo was unable to do anything live though.
Doc Rivers admits he was a bit confused when Milwaukee called him
“I told [Bucks ownership] ‘I don’t understand why you’re doing this.’”

Dame says that playing the entire first quarter is something he brought to coach griff and asked about doing. Says it’s something he’s done for years in Portland and feels like he’s able to have a larger impact of the game by getting a whole quarter.
Breakdown of minutes and rotations from game 12 v Hornets (8-4)
Notes:
- Basically an 8 man rotation outside of garbage time and a 5 minute stint from Ajax in Q1
- season high for Middleton minutes
- Dame’s second game in a row on his new rotation of playing entire Q1 & 3

Conversations will be had this off season
Khris Middleton’s name should be left out of every single one of those conversations unless you can show me someone you can get for him who is giving you what Khris has gave the Bucks so far this post season (& every ps since 2020)
Charles Barkley says he’s not a ‘Milwaukee guy’:
“Giannis has to get better as a basketball player… Going downhill 1 on 5 isn’t going to work.”

Anyways, here’s physically washed and food on defense Khris Middleton locking up Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown for an entire quarter last night
+ a bonus Khris ‘turnover any time he gets over his skis’ Middleton layup at the end!
Anyone who’s still saying that the Bucks made the wrong decision trading for Dame is just telling you they didn’t watch the Bucks the previous 3 post seasons. There is no need to go back and fourth with those people.
Yeah I’m going to need for Griff to find a way to play Andre Jackson Jr more minutes on a regular basis. On a team that lacks perimeter defenders, he should be getting a real look.
The Andre Jackson Jr sequence:
- 360 pass to AJ Green for 3
- Lob pass to Beas for a layup
- Stop on Luka
He didn’t have the best game defensively yesterday but i hope Griff continues to give him chances to show what he can do.
Bucks outside of Dame/Middleton/Brook from 3:
Bobby: 0-2
Pat Bev: 0-2
Connaughton: 0-1
Green: 0-1
Crowder: 0-2
Beasley: 0-1
Not a single made 3 from this group
With Beas being unplayable tn, the Bucks lack of role players that are willing to shoot was glaring. Huge problem imo
Opponents against Ajax:
Paint (Non RA) - 8/21 (38.1%)
Mid Range - 6/19 (31.6%)
Just to compare👇
Opponents against Jrue Holiday
Paint (Non RA) - 54/128 (42.2%)
Mid Range - 46/106 (43.4%)
Just goes to show how good Ajax is at contesting shots and using his length
We’re like 1 month from Opp being let go and the man looks like Steph at the line. No hitch at any point, all 1 motion, not taking years to shoot it. We might be back
On the season Dame has a 25.1% Usage rate in the first quarter
Since the ASB that number is up to 32.4%(!!!)
Doc said he prefers to focus on getting Dame going in 1st quarters over Giannis because Dame takes tougher shots. I think it’s already started to help Dame a ton.
Bucks are +28 with Khris Middleton on the court and have a ORTG of 140.
Bucks also have a 3.14 AST/TO ratio when he is on the floor (team high)
He leads the team in ast per game so far while only playing 16.5 mins per game.
This is a simple yet good example of what he brings
The entire eastern conference does not want to see Dame and Giannis play tonight. Everyone is hoping for a Pacers win which would make things a whole lot easier for themselves.
In the 2020-21 playoffs, Giannis guarded Jimmy Butler for 114 possessions
Jimmy’s stats in the series when guarded by Giannis
9 points (TOTAL)
3/16 shooting (18.8%)
4 turnovers
The recipe is pretty simple.
Jimmy Butler when guarded by Giannis last night:
22 possessions
0 points
0 field goals attempted
0 free throws
Giannis was physical with Jimmy from the jump and Jimmy wanted no part of Giannis at any point last night.

Dame tells a pretty funny story about the first day of training camp and catching an outlet pass from Giannis so far out of bounds that right there he knew that he wasn’t all the way ready😂
The Bucks are currently 4th in NBA in 3pt% at 38.2%. The role players have been shooting lights out.
Notables:
Cam Payne: 18/34 (53%)
Jae Crowder: 16/31 (52%)
Malik Beasley: 35/76 (46%)
Marjon Beauchamp: 11/25 (44%)
Pat Connaughton: 16/47 (34%)
Bobby portis: 11/34 (32%)
Dame will get all the talk (as he should be getting) but the bucks defense isn’t letting the Pacers get ANYTHING.
This a top 10 Pacers offense they just held to 42 points in a half.
