Always Improve Your Position When I think of this phrase, I think of the Wilderness Survival class I took back in the day when I was in Boy Scouts. In that class, it was drilled into my memory that if you are not constantly improving your shelter, water and food supply, weapons, or preparation for a way out— Then you will die. You will not make it out of there alive. Yes, that is pretty blunt, but it is the truth. Now, this idea of always improving your position is no profound philosophical revelation. It might even be cliché. That’s fine—I love clichés because they are truths (a topic for another day). This phrase is not groundbreaking in terms of new thought; the fact that we must constantly improve is human nature. If we do not improve, then we will die. In some cases, such as being lost in the wilderness, we can literally die. In other cases, our lack of improvement will feel worse than death itself. Recently, I have adopted this mentality into my daily thought process. I ask myself, “How do I apply this concept?” Which then leads me to the quote I have hanging above my desk: "What is the right thing to do now?" Even if we cannot articulate it in words, we always have some sense of what we should be doing at any given time. We have all sat at our desks, watching time dwindle away. We know we should get that thing done, respond to that message, send the email—whatever it might be. Yet, we don’t do it. We must constantly ask ourselves that question: "What is the right thing to do now?" Now, what if you have nothing to do? Well, as @thedankoe would say: "If you are bored, build." I believe this perfectly exemplifies the idea of always improving your position. If you are bored—or might I even add, if you are unsure of what to do next—Then build. Build your body. Build your mind. Build your relationships. Build a new project. Build a following. Build a company. BUILD SOMETHING. If you are building, You are moving forward. If you are moving forward, You are always improving your position. If we look to nature, there is only growth or decay. There is no stagnation. No complacency. If a tree is not in the process of growing, then it is dying. The same goes for all living things. If we are not always improving our position, We might as well be dead. ⚡️⚡️⚡️

You're More in Control Than You Think I know we have all asked ourselves: Why do I keep doing this? Why do I always do this to myself? Well, there might be a reason for that. Many of us have experienced times in our lives when unexpected things have happened— things out of our control that led to failure, disappointment, heartbreak, and other painful emotions. It’s difficult to accept that something bad can happen outside of our control. As humans, we always want to understand the why or how. We seek answers because knowing the reason behind our pain might make it a little easier to bear. But often, those uncontrollable negative experiences haunt us. They stay with us. We don’t ever want to feel that way again. We don’t want to experience pain that we have no say in. So, subconsciously, we start creating our own problems, pains, and misfortunes. Yes, I know that sounds silly—crazy, even. But here’s the thing: We are often okay with failure if we are the ones who caused it. So when life throws unexpected pain our way, we react by taking control—sometimes in self-destructive ways. We tell ourselves: "Well, if I’m going to experience this pain, at least it’s coming from me. At least I’m the one in control." We shape our reality—negative or not. But if we have the power to control our reality in a negative way, we also have the power to shape it positively. We can choose to live in a reality of success, growth, and fulfillment—just as easily as we choose one of failure and self-sabotage.

We have all had times where we get good sleep, eat well, and take care of our body. But we still feel drained of energy. No matter what supplement we take, the amount of coffee we drink, or how early we get to bed, We just can't seem to stop feeling like we need a nap every 20 minutes. That means it is time to start paying attention to the things you do on a daily basis. The people you are around most. The things that you watch. The job you have. Your hobbies. If these daily actions are not apart of your true path, they will be an energy vacuum and suck every last drop of energy from you. However, the things you love to do. The people you’re meant to be around. The job you were intended for. These will all legitimately be like a constant supply of energy injected into your veins. Pay attention to the things which make you feel like that. Then do more of those things. ⚡️⚡️⚡️
