Mom gets nervous posting pics of me bc she’s worried I’ll get fat shamed. Since being medicated, I’ve put on a lot of weight. I walk almost every day, eat a special diet with restricted calorie intake treats, etc. Mom & vet are trying but my meds make it hard. Please be kind.

We received some devastating news today...my brother, Toby, has been poorly and after a vet checkup, we found out he has days at best. He’s only 8 years old. We are shattered.

Please don’t ever get a dog if this is the life you cannot or will not provide. A dog should be part of the family. A dog should live primarily indoors (with exceptions dependent of breed and character) Dogs are not property, they are living beings with feelings.

My boy put my mom’s military beret on me last night. It’s a little bent out of shape from being stored for years but I think I pull it off! Every dachshund deserves a beret! Reminds our humans who’s in charge 😆

Brownie suffered another seizure this afternoon. This is the 1st time he’s had them 3 days in a row, even when he suffered the cluster seizures before. I will be calling his vet to discuss increasing his meds or possibly changing them. Please keep sending the love, we need it ❤️

On a walk w Brownie & two older men come up & one says, “he needs a diet”& the other says, “mom feeds you too much.” Comments like these are really hurtful. I know Brownie has been over weight since starting meds; his calories are counted & he gets exercise but meds cause gain.

Brownie has been doing well since his seizure this morning. It was the longest & worst one yet. I seriously thought this was the one that was going to take him from us. Our boy was bawling & I did too afterward. He’s tired of course but otherwise doing well ❤️

Hello fwends! I had a bad fall today and Mom is keeping an eye on me. I hit my back on a few of the stairs but my back seems okay!! My paw is hurting me though so Mom will tend to it and take me to the vet if necessary, but she thinks I just need some rest and cuddles for now 💗

We are in disbelief :( Woke up this morning to a house just down from us on fire. We know the man that lives there & he has a dachshund as well as other dogs & cats. The people made it out and are at the hospital, and the dogs made it out though one needed help from the firemen.

After almost exactly 3 months with no seizures, Brownie had his worse one yet this morning. I administered Valium and he’s been resting since. This one was the scariest of them all, and not like his others. Will be keeping a close eye on him to see if he needs to go to the vet.

Just finishing up at the hospital. They wanted to keep him for a couple of days, but my fear is that the stress would trigger more seizures. He has been given meds and am just waiting for some paperwork and meds to go home with.
