I am proud to share with you our recently published paper showing that obesity promotes breast epithelium DNA damage in women carrying a germline mutation in BRCA1 or BRCA2

This platform no longer serves the purpose for which I first joined. Looking to blue skies for less disinformation, more collegiate interactions and hopefully one day, an ability to reach the right people with pertinent information about health and medical research. Join me!

Terry Fox lives on through this legacy. Such a beautiful video. I feel privileged to have been a Terry Fox Foundation fellow when I started my career as a cancer researcher nearly two decades ago. And the Tragically Hip! ❤️🇨🇦 #terryfox

The courage to start something and the continued courage to follow through. Everyone needs inspiration and so many have found that in Terry Fox and his incredible legacy. Truthfully this video made me cry. We all know someone whose lives have been touched by cancer and how we need to come together to #EndIt

Anyone else having issues accessing GEO profile data on the NIH website? Was relying on some of these published datasets to determine activity of a pathway we’re studying and avoid needing to duplicate effort

@patosilveyra Thanks. Hoping it’s just a glitch that resolves. Months worth of work go into these proposals. Trying to be ahead of the deadline for once.

Today, I saw additional NIH sites being shut down, including funding from the office of research on women’s health. A pause in research, even a short one, will have long lasting impacts on medical research. Our mothers, sisters, daughters, wives will be impacted. @JerryMoran

@MaryS58459511 @TheEndoSociety @LMFendo @AngelaLeung9 @BFerrazdSouza Again, I can’t comment on that. Appreciate your insights though. Do you know of any hypothyroidism associations that may contribute to patient advocacy? Part of that role involves accessing the scientific literature and gaining a balanced view of what led to current guidelines.

@MaryS58459511 @TheEndoSociety @LMFendo @AngelaLeung9 @BFerrazdSouza I haven’t witnessed this side. Scientists mostly rely on government and philanthropic funding. Research publications are reviewed/scrutinized by our peers. Industry-sponsored clinical trials are heavily regulated to ensure transparency, and include IRB review (patient centered).

@MaryS58459511 @TheEndoSociety @LMFendo @AngelaLeung9 @BFerrazdSouza 4/ I am very thankful for patient advocates such as yourself. Patient voices are critical to the advancement of science and medicine, and I wonder if you’ve had the opportunity to explore more formalized advocacy. End/
