This is why @BrowardEnv's I Spy a Manatee program is so important. It helps our partners rescue sick and injured animals.
Earlier this week, a mother calf pair of manatees were entrapped upstream in a flood structure. The mother was able to escape, but the calf did not. A rescue team responded and was able to hoop net the 177 cm male calf and relocate/release him on the downstream side of the flood
