I am honoured to be the Premier's Special Advisor on Youth.
I am looking forward to working with and listening to BC's young people to over come today's challenges and build a bright future for BC's young people.
THANK YOU!
To the good samaritan that found my wallet and turned it into
@vicpdcanada
Because of you I am on the ferry my way home to see my family.
If it was you please let me know. I would like to thank you in person if possible.

Yesterday, on our way back to Nelson from Creston, my staff and I were aggressively harassed at a highway rest stop.
This is not unique behaviour towards a B.C. MLAs, it’s the second reported incident in under a week.
1/7
It was awesome to meet Nigel Howard, BC's favourite sign-language interpreter, this morning. I thanked him for all of his communication work during the pandemic.
I saw the IPCC report this morning and at first I felt great despair.
As an MLA I can't live in my despair. I must take it as a continued call to action. I went into politics (the most emotionally draining job I have ever had) because I need to see action on climate change. /1
The final count is complete. I am so honoured to be elected MLA for Nelson-Creston. This victory belongs to all the volunteers, donors and supporters. I am so grateful to each of you.
From Argenta to Yahk, I will work hard to be your dedicated Kootenay voice in Victoria.
Just a little video to talk about being a female politician and my personal body image issues.
My response to feedback I have been getting about looking like I am having too much fun...I am having fun, I am also working super hard. I can do both!

This resolution passed with overwhelming support at the BCNDP Convention.
I am so grateful to the speakers and was proud to stand with them in solidarity.

Today at sunset, Jewish communities in BC and around the world will celebrate the first of the eight nights of

@richardzussman

To everyone celebrating Chanukah, Chag Urim Sameach!

My parent's wanted to be the first people with their
@bcndp
Elect Brittny Anderson sign up in their yard.
And yes my Dad, Terry Anderson is very much in my bubble so the high five is ok! Wish I could be giving more high 5s but happy to elbow bump as long as we are both masked.
This kind of behaviour is not ok. It does nothing to further the civil, respectful conversations that we need to be having as community members to move our province forward in the best way. This incident was reported to police, and will proceed through that avenue.

I love celebrating

BC Liberal MLA
@KirkpatrickWVC
asked Minister
@selinarobinson
to exempt collector’s vehicles from BC’s luxury car tax. This would give a $10,000 tax break to someone buying an antique car worth $125,000.
Sorry, but if you can afford a $125K car, you can afford to pay taxes.
The BC Liberals are calling for a tax break on antique cars worth over $125,000.
They're proving everyday they're still working for the wealthy and making everyone else pay for it.
Vaccinations and following public health orders continue to be the best way we have of keeping our friends, families and communities safe from COVID-19.
6/7
This is a cross-partisan issue, and goes beyond politics. MLAs and staff have all recently dealt with extreme behaviours of people opposed to public health orders, which has had an impact on their ability to keep a welcoming office to provide services to their communities.

I am imagining:
✅ Reconciliation
✅ Eliminating fossil fuels
✅ Mitigating the impacts of climate change
✅ Ensuring youth have a vibrant future
✅ Housing for all
✅ Ending the opiate crisis
✅ Mental, dental and pharmaceutical coverage for all
✅ Equality & 10$/day childcare
I was once a child with a dream looking up to the stars. Now I'm an adult in a spaceship looking down to our beautiful Earth. To the next generation of dreamers: if we can do this, just imagine what you can do

We’re Keeping Jumbo Wild! Today

tabled a bill to finally dissolve Jumbo as a municipality. This is one of the last steps to protect Qat’muk. I’m so excited this is happening, and grateful to everyone in the Kootenays who fought so hard for it.
Minister
@josie_osborne
was kind enough to meet me for a power walk after I landed and we wound up at the Legislature so she gave me a tour! This was my first time in the Leg. 😊 Thank you so much Nelson-Creston for the deep honour of representing you.

In this case, the man involved screamed at us about vaccinations. His actions became so aggressive, and subsequently so did those of his passenger, that we had to run for our car to remove ourselves from the situation.

Today in Question Period, Kevin Falcon yelled “you’re a nobody” at one of my colleagues.
QP is lively, I know... But it’s this kind of aggressive, toxic personal attack that deters so many (especially women) from getting into politics.
Not ok,
@KevinFalcon

Hospitals, schools, and clinics were targeted by similar groups of people, and resulted in our government introducing bubble zones around those spaces to keep those workers, patients, and students safe. And members of the media have faced similarly aggressive tactics.

I hate needles but I had the nicest nurse ever! So thrilled to have gotten my second dose of the vaccine! Thank you to all the amazing staff at the vaccine clinic.

Getting ready to affirm my Oath of Allegiance to become a Member of the Legislative of Assembly of British Columbia from my parent's living room in Nelson BC.
Thank you Nelson-Creston for the honour of serving you.
I would recommend that anyone involved with cannabis policy development grow their own plants. I believe you will find this plant and the process to be beautiful. I also believe it will lead to less fear based cannabis policies.

Yay! My Grandma just got her first vaccine and the process was seamless for her. Hoping for the same experience for everyone that wants one. She is a retired nurse and has been looking forward to this day for a year.
Here is a little behind the scene video my mama took of me affirming my Oath of Allegiance today.
Thank you everyone for your kind words and support. I look forward to working for you.
I know masks are no longer mandatory inside but they are highly encouraged if you have not had 2 doses of the vaccine yet. When you walk into a store and see all the employees wearing masks to protect you, please consider being courteous and wear yours to protect them.
An impromptu drag story time is happening right now outside Nelson City Hall after threats cancelled one that was supposed to happen today at the library. Incredible crowd.
As MLA, I am gearing up to make a submission to Health Canada in Reviewing the Cannabis Act. I am using this opportunity to amplify your voice. Please fill out the survey below and share with other people in the community and industry.
Drag Story Time Event in NelsonI’m heartsick over the division in our community around the Drag Story Time event that was planned this weekend by the Nelson Library. T
Young people are leaders! They have been disproportionally impacted by the pandemic and they also have the highest vaccination rate.
Young ppl are getting vaccinated to protect themselves, their communities and because they want to get their lives back.
Premier David Eby just shared our vision for rural BC! We will be applying a rural lens to all government decisions!
There is so much to dig into, this is just the start. Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard on this. I am so excited to see where we go!
