This week's #IslandOfTheWeek is East Falkland. It is the largest of the Falkland Islands and is home to over 3/4 of the territory's population, most of whom live in the capital city, Stanley. The bottom half of the island, attached by a small isthmus, is known as Lafonia.🇫🇰🇬🇧

🇵🇳 It was fantastic to see @hms_tamar visit the Pitcairn Islands, home to one of the largest marine protected areas globally. 🤝 The crew collected samples of water so experts can analyse the impact that climate change is having in the region, and patrols were conducted.

Diego Garcia is a remote island with limited resources and a sensitive military facility and is not an appropriate place for asylum seekers. We are concerned by the UNHCR report and glad that the FCDO is working to relocate these people.
